Week's accomplishments

Yes that is plural! I feel like I have gotten lots done this week. Here are eight identical table runners that I pieced this past week, they each have 4 leaf blocks, that is 32 paper pieced blocks total and all those strip pieced borders! Onto the 'need to be quilted' pile they go.
Plus I got this customer quilt done also! It was a mystery quilt and she wanted an open all over design on it. I used a freehand feather design from a Patsy Thompson DVD.

Poinsettia finish

First let me say thank you to everyone who visited my blog yesterday, there was a lot of traffic!! A big thank you to all who left comments, it was so fun to read them all!!
This wall hanging is a pattern from Joined At the Hip. I modified it a bit using one fabric for the border and also put in a tiny border between the large border and the binding. It measures approx   19.5 x 35". I quilted a baptist fan style design in the border and an allover design called spinners(from Diana Phillips)  in the background. Batik red poinsettia's are raw edge applique as are the leaves. A very fun wall hanging to make. The above pic makes it look crooked, it really isn't, LOL

Total fun!

This past week I was at MQS (Machine Quilters Showcase) in Overland Park, KS. I took a few classes, one of which was with Angela Walters that was a really fun class, I learned lots, she is a great teacher, thanks Angela!  I was also lucky to be #2 in the line to get a free signed copy of her book that is coming out in June, 2012. An awesome book.  So yesterday I designed this modern looking table runner, which I am calling Mod Dots(modern dots) pieced the background and appliqued the circles on using the interfacing method, it was easy peasy. Today was really fun quilting some of the designs from Angela's class/book.  I used Hobbs 80/20 batting and Glide thread.

This gold circle and orange circle are my favorite designs.

Deb's horse quilt

I quilted this horse quilt for my friend Deb. She got the kit from Calico Hutch in Hayward, MN. I think it turned out really nice. Warm and Natural batting and Glide thread on top and Signature prewound bobbins.
Now I have to go clean a little house and get ready to babysit our Grandson, Brevon, this
afternoon :-)

Finishes

I have been really busy getting bindings on several table runners and with the sun shining today I thought I would try my luck of photography outside with them. This is my backyard. So these 6 runners are all pieced the same but each with different quilting from Patsy Thompson's DVD, love her designs they were quick and very fun free motion.
