Another style of dress-this one made from using a couple different patterns and then putting my own twist on it. Isn't that little crochet hat the cutest thing! It is a free pattern I found on Ravelry and works up so fast. I need to get some lime green yarn for some hats to go with too. I made 6 identical dresses yesterday. You will soon see the new ones in my Etsy shop (link on the right side of blog). Thanks for visiting my blog-and I always enjoy comments!

Dolly gets a new dress!
This time of year is my 'play' time or 'do whatever I want' time and I am loving every minute. I was in the mood to sew some doll clothes, so here is my Girl of Today, whom I named Miranda, in her new dress and matching headband. I have enough fabric left after making 6 of these to make matching tote bags so I think I will get those whipped up too.

DRS challenge 101-Three's Company
One last Christmas card for the DRS challenge this week. I use this snowman a lot-he's just so darn cute!
The challenge this week is to use 3 of something, so I have used the same snowman stamp and just made it higher and higher on the card as I went. I had fun decorating up their scarves a little different. Add a few snowflake embellishments and sentiment and it is done.
Happy Christmas to all!!

WIP Wednesday
I started 3 more little baby quilts, each are 36" square to donate to the local neonatal unit. A friend, who moved away, gave me some fabric she didn't want to haul and there were 2 charm packs from the Central Park line by Kate Spain in it. Thanks Cynthia! So I had enough to make 3 little quilts by adding in my own solid fabric. These would be great for a set of triplets! I got EQ7 earlier this year and hadn't played with it for a while so I decided to mock it up in there-for a refresher course ya know. Since I ran out of solid green I chose an orange for the third one and I am not doing the white stripe either, gotta mix it up a bit!

A weekend accomplishment!
I have been planning on getting this quilt done since the summer of 2012 and here is the top all sewn. That summer I went on a local shop hop and if you completed the passport you received this bundle of half yard cuts of Bella solids. The pattern is a freebie at Moda Bake Shop called Puzzle Quilt. Love how it came out, it will hang in our family room when I get it quilted-hopefully in January. There was lots of fabric left from this bundle so I picked out another Moda Bake Shop pattern to work up someday.
I am so enjoying my free sewing time right now, so onto the next projects-keep checking back as I have more posts in the works :-) Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!

A finish for Friday
It's always good to finish something! This little quilt top measures at 45x60, I started it on Wed. and just finished it up now. I used Jenny's quick curve ruler and her pattern Urban Escape, a fun little quilt. I have no idea what I am going to do with it as the colors don't go with my decor, but I love them anyway! It will be a fun one to quilt when I am in the mood to do that. Oh I added a small white border since I took this pic.

WIP-wedneday
This week I have been whipping working on chevron baby quilts to donate to the local Neonatal unit. Three tops pieced and working on #4, then I will have to get busy and quilt them.
These are pretty quick and easy. I cut 6 " blocks to start my half sq. triangles, layer a light on a bright(dark) sq. and draw a line from corner to corner and sew 1/4" inch away on each side of the line. After they were sewed and cut(on the line) I trimmed using my Blockloc rulers to get 5 1/2" sqs. Love those rulers they make trimming so easy!

Another card..
for the DRS Glitter it up challenge this week. I hope I understood correctly that if we used DRS stamps on our cards we got 2 entries-if that's not right someone please correct me!!
The snowman and the trees are both from DRS designs. I glittered up the trees and his scarf with stickles-love them! I also added black brads down the front of the snowman. Used Nesties for the ovals and some black distress ink sparingly around the white oval just to give it a little more character. The inspiration for this card came from one of the DRS designers :-)
I find it very hard to capture the glitter in a photo-anyone got some good hints on how to do that. I can see it a little anyway.

WIP wednesday project and my Etsy shop open!!
I am working on this queen size quilt for us, it is a pattern from Modern Quilt Relish called Taffy twists. All solid colors in aqua and teals on a brown background. There are 3 rows of the twists surrounded by brown on each side. A very easy pattern to piece and then I'll have lots of fun with the quilting! It is so nice to have all my craft shows done for the season and a little free time to decorate for the Holidays. I am looking forward to making more things for us this winter.
My other news is that I opened up my Etsy shop last week!! I had an account and shop name for 2 years and never took the time to get items up for sale before. So as of now I have 8 items on there and hope to list a few more soon, so check back! Here is a link to it Vickiscraftden
