Scrappy Batik runner

I love working with Batik more and more :-)  I put together a couple of these scrappy runners. The pattern was in a magazine a few years back, sorry I don't remember which one. It is a great way to use up some scraps. I hope to finish quilting this one today so I will keep my post short as I have a long list of 'to do's' today.  It is receiving custom in each batik strip and then a stipple in the white blocks which will get appliqued leaves when I am all done with the quilting. It makes it easier to quilt that way without the leaves to maneuver around.

Linking up at Freemotion by the River and She Can Quilt(Scraptastic Tuesday). See the links on my left sidebar. Hoping over now to get in on some eye candy!

  1. Pretty batiks :) Are you going to applique the leaves with your long arm? Have you seen this technique?

  3. Runners are a great way to use up scraps and practice a bit of Fmq whether on a longarm or domestic machine! Thanks for the suggestion and linking up to #scraptastictuesday

  4. Such pretty Batiks. I still hope to see what it looks like on the back after the appliqué is added. :)
