Walking on Sunshine

A fellow quilt guild member, Sharon, asked me to custom quilt her modern quilt. It was a pleasure and so much fun to quilt this for her. Thanks Sharon for a well pieced quilt!!  I worked up a couple designs by taking a picture of the quilt into photoshop and using my bamboo tablet to draw them out. After a couple of emails of discussing the design I should use, we decided on this.

As you can see I ended up adding another line 1/4" away from the pebble line. It looked OK the orginal way, but, I thought it needed an extra line to give it more sparkle;)

I used deep yellow, deep aqua, and white Glide thread throughout this 44" x 44" quilt. I love how the quilting formed a secondary diamond right in the middle of the quilt.

Some continuous curve stitching in the pinwheel gave this top movement.

Thanks, Sharon, for allowing me to put this on my blog!  Sharon found this Walking on Sunshine pattern on Esty at www.sweetjane.etsy.com.

  11. This is amazing Vicki. Sharon chose some gorgeous colours for the quilt and the design you chose is perfect for it. I agree that the extra line on the pebble gives it more sparkle. Thanks for sharing the drawn out design first-gives a look into planning process. I tend to to think, load and quilt but not draw out.
