Fashion show

A couple weeks ago I woke up in the mood to enhance my 18" doll clothes supply for the craft shows.  It has continued, and I now have four identical of each of these designs made. I really love making this size garment!

The first outfit I made was this three piece ensemble consisting of a pleated jean skirt, spaghetti top, and short vest.  I always use my sewing machine to sew on the buttons and then add a bit of  fray check for extra measure. Oh and those pleats, I added them on my own and pleated them just by eyeing them-pretty darn good if I say so myself, LOL

Another pleated skirt, vest and tank top.  All of the outfits have velcro closures.

I have made dresses like this before, but I chose a different pattern this time-change things up a bit so it isn't boring ya know!  The hat was a freebie pattern online but the link is not working anymore. Notice the belt, I added that to it, it's a strip of white vinyl and a small rhinestone buckle from Jo Ann's.

It's summer and she is ready for it!   The top is a pattern from Pixie Fair.
Most of the time I use patterns from McCalls or Simplicity and then put my own spin on them.  Can ya tell I've been having loads of fun!!

BTW-these outfits are all for sale-if you are interested just let me know in the comment section.

I started a pleated jumper, but, it might be a while before I get them done as I have some other fun things to do this next week. I'll let you know about that later;)

My Calla Lilies are opening. I look forward to this each year as they are so exotic looking!  Hmmm looks like I need to go pull the tree out-didn't even see it when I snapped the pic, haha.

  9. How cute!!! I used to make AG doll clothes for my DGD, but she has outgrown that fad now. I loved doing them & have a few on my blog.
I'm curious where you have your Calla Lilies planted? Shade? Wet? I didn't think they survived this far north. I carried them in my wedding & would love to have some here at this house!

  10. Those outfits are so cute! You are really making progress for your show! I used to make doll clothes too, but those days are gone (for now). I want to know where you have that lilly planted too. I planted some years ago and they didn't survive. They sure are pretty!
