Working ahead for fall

In early June I was piecing these cute runners, I had started the pumpkin blocks while I was in Paducah.  There were enough made to piece 5 runners.

They are pretty addictive and the pumpkins will use up some orange scraps.  The pattern is by The Cottage Rose.  Not affiliated, but she sure has cute patterns.  In fact I picked up some new ones at the MN quilt show a few weeks ago.

Quilting them was pretty fun too! I mostly quilted them the same, the only variation was in the black sashings between each pumpkin.  The U turns are at different widths there.  I love the green leaves and tendrils that I quilted beside each pumpkin stem.

Have you heard about this blog hop coming soon!  My day to post is July 25th so I hope you will come back and check out my project:)

  6. Ha great minds think alike Vicki. I just took my pumpkin and stars table runner to my quilt group to show it yesterday. Will be posting soon. Mine is pieced and applique. It's the second one I made. I made one longer for my sister last year.

  7. Hi Vicki!
Ohh, these are just great! I love the little leaf and vine you stitched next to each stem - that really makes it a pumpkin. I'm sure these will do great in your craft fairs! I am playing along in the blog hop as well - my day is the 24th. Happy Happy Friday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

  8. Very cute runners! I'm sure those will be very popular in your shop. I just love autumn decor, and it's certainly not too soon to be prepping these pieces. Looking forward to your Christmas post! Not too soon for that, either :)

  9. Vicki, this is July. This is when folks make Christmas in July projects (insert eye roll emoji here). But I am sure you are way ahead of us all, have already finished all your Christmas project and so naturally it is time to move on to Fall/Halloween projects :-D
Love the pumpkins and everything else you make, regardless of the season :-p

  10. After having 95 degree days, today’s 72 degrees feels like fall, so it’s appropriate that you are quilting pumpkins! They are too cute!

  13. It's so hard to think of Fall in July; I'm an 'in the moment' kind of gal... But that's why I don't have any runners, Christmas or Fall, to sell in my Etsy shop LOL. These are so cute. Looking forward to seeing (though it might be the 26 since I am at the ophthalmologist on the 25, oh joy) your project for the Christmas in July hop!
