Happy mail-winnings-working and give away

Remember the Starstruck runner tutorial I entered into the tips and tutorial festival at Meadow Mist Designs and Quilting Jetgirl a few weeks ago?  Well I was floored when Cheryl emailed me and told me I was one of the winners!!!!!!

This was one of the prizes that arrived last week.  Perhaps you recognize the box?  My first ever Quilt Planner!  I had not seen one in person before so I was happy to explore its contents.  I already have a couple days blocked off for a project next year;)   OMG look how cute it is and even matches the flannel I covered my big ironing board with!

Here is a list of all the wonderful goodies I won-I am still shocked!! Thank you Cheryl and Yvonne and all the sponsors.

And the thanks go to all of you that voted for me. I appreciate all of you that read my blog and leave comments!  I am going to have a give away to show that appreciation so hang in to the end of the post for info on that.

So you want to know what the working part of this email subject is.  Well as followers you know that I do several craft shows each fall.  Last weekend was the last of them for the year. It's been fun, but I am glad they are over.  The local shows were all down some this year, however having some winter/Christmas items left wasn't all bad.  I am busy listing some of them on Etsy.  It's working as I have sold some already. I ave a few more to list this weekend.   I am still amazed that my Etsy shop is keeping me hopping and I love it.  At this time I am thinking I will drop one of my local shows next year.

As to what I have been making more of, are my snowman runners-I can't keep these in stock very long.  Pinch me!!

And Tree runners

And finishing up 5 turkey runners for an Etsy order.  Now you know why the blog has been rather quiet lately, just repeat ones you have already seen a gazillion times!

And the thanks go to all of you that voted for me. I appreciate all of you that read my blog and leave comments!  I am going to have a give away to show that appreciation so hang in to the end of the post for info on that.

Now what you have been waiting for-the giveaway!   I will be giving away one of my patterns(your choice) on Craftsy to THREE lucky people!  Just leave me a comment telling me your Christmas plans.  You don't have to be a follower but I would sure love it if you were.  Here is the important part, make sure I have your email address.  If I don't I won't be able to contact you if you are a winner.  I am not going to be able to take time to go hunting for it so please be sure to leave it if you think you might be a no reply blogger.  I have had several of you lately and I feel bad I can't respond to your comment. This giveaway will close Monday morning Dec 17th at 8 a.m.

  4. The family gathers here for dinner. I'm making lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and tortellini in Alfredo sauce. The others bring the fill-ins and desserts.
I'm making table runners for everyone, and I've lost count of how many. This the season to be busy!

  8. It's always fun to have art appreciated. Your runners deserve the win! For Christmas this year, we are hosting my sister for a few days. It is notable that it will be the last year for this as she is moving here in the new year :-) And we will go to her new house next year. I'm quite excited about her coming to live close to me. Thanks for the sweet giveaway!

  11. Congratulations on winning!!! You will love that planner <3 Honestly I do not know what my Christmas plans will be this year. I just know my daughter and I are really excited about the holiday. One thing I know is it will be filled with new traditions and lots of love :)

  12. Congratulations! Our family get together coincides with my MIL's 95th birthday so we celebrate both at the same time. The family is so large now with kids, grands, and great grands that we rent an event space and have a catered meal. No fuss for us, just fun. We get to concentrate on the fellowship.

  13. Congratulations Vicki on winning! And for your continued success on Etsy too! You inspired me to give Etsy a try again after nearly 9 years absence from Etsy and I am thrilled to have made a few sales on Etsy since I reopened my shop. No plans for Christmas other than some sewing and knitting, lol! I like a nice quiet day with Mr. P. (I think Mr. P fixed my commenting thing too, let's hope so).

  16. Vicky! Great winnings! Congratulations! I love your runners and I'm not surprised at success on Etsy! I read your blog, but I do not comment, because my English is very poor (now my Google translator helps me :)). This Christmas I will spend Christmas in my home in my little mountains in the south of Poland with my son and grandson and we will all be thinking with my daughter and her
family. She lives very far and now has a tiny second daughter.
Merry Christmas and a good new year.

  19. Wow, that was a neat surprise for you, Vicki! Congratulations. We just have our two adult children, so our Christmases are small and quiet. We have the same meal every year...it's tradition.
Best wishes on your Etsy business.

  21. We were hoping to have hubby's parents come for Christmas, but, his mother is still doing poorly after her surgery, so they won't be coming. That means that we have no plans. With the 'job' (or lack of) thing, I wasn't even planning on decorating any, but, when I woke up this morning, our son had put up the Christmas tree and put the lights on it overnight. I might put out a few of my Christmas mini quilts. We'll see.

  22. CONGRATULATIONS!! That's so wonderful. We used to go to my parent's house on Christmas Eve and have a buffet and open presents. Both of my parents and grandparents have since passed and we've been just floating along for Christmas. My 3 kids have moved into a house together and they live less than 5 miles straight down the road from us. Strangely enough they live about 6 houses down from my parents old house where we used to have all our gatherings. I've been trying different things each year to find one that works for us now. This year we are going to get together at the kids' house and watch a Harry Potter movie, work on a jigsaw puzzle, and make some fun finger foods. Of course there will be presents. Merry Christmas!!

  23. Congratulations on your win!! So many great prizes! I love your snowman runner, I can see that they would be a hit at craft shows. My in-laws like to celebrate Christmas Eve so we'll do turkey here, then Christmas will just be me, husband, and our 5-year old. Our traditional dinner is cheese fondue. Merry Christmas!

  24. Congrats on winning! Our Christmas with the adult kids (both his and mine) and families usually takes place on Christmas morning. We do brunch for the whole fam-damily, and we all have fun. Then, when they all go on their espective ways, the rest of the day is ours to relax, sit by the fireplace and read or do handwork.
