2019 Island Batik Ambassador

I have some good news, I've been chosen to be an Island Batik Ambassador for 2019.  This will be my fourth year. Wow how time flies when you are having fun.  This year is the most we have ever had with 50 of us talented, creative people picked.  I say people as we have two gentlemen joining in the fun this year.

The application for being an ambassador was sent out in Dec. and we started received our goodies in January.  And let me tell you they are GOODIES!  Yes I just shouted, because it deserves shouting about.

There are the 5" strips of stash builders, lots of  the solid grey, black and white-yes they make solid batiks!  A 10" stack of rainbow batiks with yardage of two coordinating prints.  A blender stack, a gorgeous rayon scarf, 2 yards of a rayon for a shirt perhaps.  And a nice yardage amount of sprinkles!!  My favorite background fabric;)  Also there are Island Batik pins!

In the picture below you see two wrapped packages, those are our secret bundles that we will use later this summer to showcase newly released fabrics from Spring Market.  So be sure to follow along so you get to view them during the big blog hop that is either in August or September.

In addition to Island Batik providing us with wonderful fabrics, they partner with Hobbs Batting and Aurifil Thread.  What a fantastic variety of battings. I use Hobbs 80/20 all the time and love it. But it will be so fun to experiment with their other battings.  You see the bag of Aurifil thread in the pic above. There are some different weights in there, it will be fun to use them in a monthly challenge.

And get this...this year Accuquilt is on board as a partner with Island Batik.  What does all that mean you ask?  It means each of these companies provide us with supplies to complete our monthly challenges.  Isn't that just wonderful!!!  Each year just gets better and better.

I had been looking at accuquilt machines but I just couldn't commit and when we discovered we were receiving a machine, dies, 8"cube etc. I just couldn't believe it!!    There might have been a little shouting and happy dancing going on that day.

Thank you Island Batik, Hobbs Batting, Aurifil and Accuquilt for your generosity.  It is much appreciated and will be so fun to continue to rise to the challenge each month.  You can meet all of the Island Batik Ambassadors right HERE.

  15. I think that scarf matches your quilted jacket. It'd be fun to get an Accuquilt machine. Have fun with all the goodies.
