Two swirling stars were pieced, quilted and bound over the weekend.
This is a free pattern from Krista Moser using the 60 degree Diamond ruler from Creative Grids. You strip piece and then cut and sew back together. It might look a bit complicated but it is not!
And before long you have two halves ready to be assembled into a finished topper.
I used some squares that were given to me plus some I had precut myself for the backing.
Both table runners were quilted with the hook swirl that looks good on everything!
I had the perfect blue backing fabric to match the shade of blue in the star. I better get cracking on sewing/quilting the next runner. Hope to see you at these linky parties...Monday Musings, Sew and Tell Monday. Design Wall Monday

My that does look complicated, but in a beautiful way! How pretty is that pattern, and your fabrics are just perfect. That hook swirl quilt design really sets it off! Hope you have a fabulous week. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table toppers!!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a neat design! Simple piecing, but a big impact. Fun, scrappy backing, too!
ReplyDeleteI love this and wouldn't it just be lovely to have on our tables to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America. Thank you for telling us where we can get the free pattern. I looked at it but I'm on my phone so I'm going to go to my home computer so I can print it out. Again thank you very much, I do hope mine turns out half is pretty as yours 🥰
ReplyDeleteSwirling Stars is gorgeous and the backings on both are so pretty. Thank you for sharing the link to the pattern, Vicki. My little eye spotted the Mini Flag sampler. Thank you so much for stitching it. It looks so precious displayed with your gorgeous table quilt. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI think these are my favorite patriotic ones you've made so far.
