It was so much fun making this patriotic panel into a wall quilt. I played around with a couple different layouts for borders on it in EQ8 before settling on this one. Friendship stars plus red, white, and blue stripes.
I was so in love with how it came together that I told my hubby that if it didn't sell I would be okay with keeping it. I listed it on Saturday and it sold on Monday!
The lady bought it to give to her brother who is a Vietnam Vet. I am honored.
See it looked pretty good on the wall in our living room;)
I had a great blue and white fabric for the backing. I have a different patriotic panel that I plan to work on this week yet. Might even get started today since I don't have to cook tonight, hubby is taking me out for dinner, I think Texas Road House.
Linking with Wednesday Wait Loss and perhaps some parties on Friday too;)

The layout you decided on looks sharp! The proportions are perfect for the panel and it’s a beautiful finish.
ReplyDeleteOh that is SO pretty! How big did it turn out? That is a beautiful panel, the blue in it is stunning. And I love those friendship stars on it. How sweet that it is going to a vet. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that border you put around this panel !!
ReplyDeleteThat is very pretty! The border is so good!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful quilt, Vicki! I would have a hard time selling that one, too. Enjoy your dinner - that's also one of our favorite places to go!
ReplyDeleteI knew that one would sell fast! So pretty and patriotic. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Love that border!! Need a full runner with a similar pattern??! It’s gorgeous! And love Texas Roadhouse - I keep forgetting about them since it’s a bit of a drive. I could live in their rolls and cinnamon honey butter! 💖
ReplyDeleteThat quilt found the perfect home!
ReplyDeleteWow, Vicki! This one is stunning. I think I would have had a hard time parting with it too. It sounds like it made its way to the perfect home to be admired and treasured. Magnificent!
