Way cool

I entered the scrappy festival and won a prize of a scrap sack of fabric!
But the sad part of the day, my new Oliso iron is having hissy fits, it isn't popping up when I let go of the handle, only had it a month or so, it will be going back to the store on monday.  I was lovin' this iron but not sure I want another. So I might be back out iron shopping soon!!

New ruler

I got a new curved ruler and am making table runners with it. Love it!!  It is a gentle curve and fairly easy to sew when doing it slowly, then you trim the blocks.

What's happening today...

outside my house the daffodils are in full bloom-yeah it is spring!!

And inside my house you'd think it was winter as I am knitting a sweater on my knitting machine. But hey I gotta do it when the mood strikes :-)  And yes I promise it will really turn into a sweater. When I get it off the machine I sew the seams by hand, sew on the buttons and walla you have a sweater!

Here is a little wall hanging I did over the weekend using a pattern from Willow Wood Market I used wool, wool felt, and regular felt to make this. What fun and quick to stitch up.

Here a purse, there a purse, everywhere a purse!

Last week I cut out 11 purses. Today I started sewing the panels together and getting them ready for the next step which is quilting them, then I can actually assemble them. These will be available for sale sometime in the near future! If you are interested you can email me knitbug@charter.net

Scrappy day!

My daughter came over and we scrapbooked all day, of course we had to work around a 10 month old's schedule, but he did so good!!  I think we each only got 3 pages done but hey it is more than we started with, LOL.

Felt like spring today!

It was beautiful out today, we were able to go for a nice walk around the neighborhood.  Yesterday we drove over to the river and watched the eagles, saw at least 20. Drove up the river from Wabasha to Red Wing. Went for a walk in the park in Red Wing, went to Treasure Island Cassino for yummy buffet supper and back home. Just nice to get away and spend some time together.

Delivering day-Awesome!

This was an awesome day, I delivered 14 of the 20 quilts I made this year to the local Ronald McDonald house. The gals at the desk were so appreciative and complimentary, it just made my heart swell to know I could wrap some child in love and warmth.

One for me!

I started piecing this quilt in January at a quilt retreat, got all the blocks pieced and then it sat on my counter while I pieced and quilted all those donation quilts. So today I decided it was time to get this one finished, it's 81x81. This pattern is called Four Square by Cozy Quilt Designs. Autumn Journey is the jelly roll I used for this. For some odd reason I couldn't seem to measure right, I had to rip 3 of those borders and redo them. But I am glad I did and I like how it turned out. Thinking I should put some feathers on this one, and maybe some swags in the border. Might be a while before I get to the quilting.

I have had an awesome week of finishing up quilts for donations. This cute little blue/yellow one was a panel and I added three borders to it, turned out so sweet I think. Quilted a Dwirling pattern on it.
This brightly colored wedge quilt I got the idea from Cynthia at http://ahhhquilting.blogspot.com/ Thanks Cynthia!! I quilted it using a panto called Watercourse.
This bright colored one is a Take Five pattern and I quilted it in a topo design freehand.
The scrap quilt is a pattern called Trashcan from Pat Speth, thanks Pat! I quilted it using the Baptist Fan template board from RnS designs.
