Maple leaf progress

Remember all the maple leaf parts I posted about on Wednesday, I worked on 12 blocks. Three of each color. Do you wonder why the pile of gold ones are in the corner by themselves? Well they were in time out!  Wednesday I went to my blog buddy's house to sew....Wendy from Piecefulthoughts invited me up for the day!! We hadn't gotten together in a very long time, it was so fun to catch up and so fun to see her quilt room remodel, ooh la la it was so pretty! Thanks Wendy for a fun day.

Back to the gold blocks that were in time out...I might have been chatting a bit too much and I sewed two pieces wrong in each of the three gold leaves. I didn't allow Jack(seam ripper) to come out of hiding while at Wendy's so I packed them up and went home. Thursday morning I fixed those mistakes. And hurried onward to add the sashings etc. to all twelve so I would eventually have three runners.

After lunch I was getting tired and knew I would not be able to finish them all then. So I decided to take four blocks, the pieced border squares and get one table runner all pieced and find the backing so I could quilt it today while you are reading this;)  See that cute coffee mug and fall fat quarters in it, a gift from Wendy! She is such a sweetie. We had a great day.

I do believe this is my last post for August, can you believe how fast this month/year has gone! I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I know I have some domestic stuff to do, but I also want to quilt.

  7. It is always fun to spend sewing time with friends. I really like the colors in the maple leaf runner. Those domestic duties get in the way, don't they?
