I just had to quilt this up yesterday. Seriously amazed myself as I really like it now that it's done! If you read my Wednesday post I commented I never really liked the gourd/pumpkin panel after I got it home. So it had been in time out for at least 3 years.
The panel squares have a plum background so I added a plum batik to them before adding the orange batik border. Cross hatch was perfect for the panel squares. And the orange border got piano key quilting.
Looking through the stash for a backing yielded this plum purple fall leaves which was perfect for it. I had to add the orange strip to make it wide enough and now the fall leaves print is all used up except for a bit of scrap. Tomorrow I will hopefully get better photos and get it listed. Today was a very cool day and gloomy so these were the best I could do.
When this was done I went on to cut out a few other runners so perhaps they will get worked on in the next few days.
Wow you don't let any grass grow under your feet! You whipped this beauty out in no time, Vicki! Woo Hoo! Love the border fabric too; it and the plum batik makes these pumpkins and gourds shine! Beautiful job. Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing you didn't like that panel, now the pumpkins in that runner look like pretty paintings. Loving the plum!
ReplyDeleteHooray for taking that panel to a finish! Well done!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteThe backing is gorgeous. Almost too pretty to hide on the back. LOL I love all your fabric choices on this runner.
ReplyDeleteThat is super great fabric - perfect for fall!!!
ReplyDeleteI often like my projects better after they're quilted and bound! The borders and quilting you added to this really finished it off nicely. Those batiks are so pretty with the different colors of gourds and pumpkins!
