Let's begin with our little vacay over the weekend. The hubby and I decided on a whim to get away for the weekend and go into Wisconsin and do some ATV trail riding. The weather was perfect for it. We did two trails, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. In a previous year we did part of them. We got to see some leaves showing their beautiful fall colors. Definitely not at their peak yet.
We were having a great time out on the trail, until we came upon a head on collision of two side by side ATVs. We didn't stick around as there were lots of people in those groups. They were waiting for the ambulance, EMTs, cops, and DNR. Yes there were injuries. I saw one of them holding a towel to their head. Not sure how many people were involved but more than two for sure. It happened on a blind curve but for sure one of them was on the wrong side of the trail. We continued on our way a little more cautious as there were so many ATVs out there and too many going to fast. Eventually we came to the end of the trail and turned around to go back to the hotel, The accident scene hadn't been cleared and the injured were still there. Two helicopters were sitting on the highway, they couldn't get close to the scene as it was at least a half mile in on the trail so that an ambulance couldn't get in there either. Two people were air lifted for sure, don't know about the others but it sure was a commotion of professionals doing their jobs. They were not letting any ATV's go through that part of the trail and after a bunch of us were waiting for 30 minutes or so they told us another route we could use to get to where we needed. I just hope that those people are going to be okay.
We stopped for lunch at one of the pull outs and as we were eating I looked up and saw Smoky the Bear, LOL. 🠟
I have the Etsy App on my phone so it cha-chings when I have a sale. My phone was pretty busy all weekend! So when we got home Monday I got busy and shipped out several runners. And overnight I had two more to ship! So you know what I will be doing this week!! But first here are a couple items I finished before we left town. This Halloween swirl runner was for an order, she had seen the round one in these fabrics and asked if I could make a swirl one in those.
Another gal might be interested in this snowman wall hanging as she bought two other of my fall ones and said how much she liked this size. I whipped up two identical ones, just in case;) This is one of my patterns which can be found HERE.
And since snowmen and snowflakes go together so well I whipped up this blue delectable mountains with blue and silver snowflake fabric. The white background fabric has sparkles in it making it so elegant.
I guess I was still in the snowflake mood so I used red with silver snowflakes for the background of this runner from my starburst tutorial. This is one that sold over the weekend. Okay I'll be working away while you are reading this as I have several things that need quilting.
How scary about the accidents, puts you in the cautious mood for sure. But your rides sound like fun. How cool to be able to take off and do something like that. I bet the cha-ching-ings put you in a great mood! Your Etsy shop is booming, or the "fire emotie" as they like to do nowadays. :)
ReplyDeleteSmokey the Bear... pic was so funny, it's a keeper. I always check out the machine quilting and yours is always excellent. Do you fmq freehand or use software and the machine does the stitching?? It always looks great!

ReplyDeleteGlad you got away and had some fun on your ATVs, but that accident does not sound good! The leaves are so pretty, and so are all your fun runners and hangings. I really love the red and white snowflake one. Hope you got a lot done today!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hope the people in the accident are OK. My brother was in a bad bicycle accident with a fawn this summer. It was scary and I wasn't even there. He was really banged up but is OK now and already back on his bike.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you the other day wondering if you had any camping trips planned. The trees look beautiful as the leaves begin to put on an autumn show of colors.
