Eagle and Flags

You might think you are seeing the same wall hanging that I posted last Wednesday. It's definitely the same border but a different panel.

I liked the border on last week's wall hanging so much that I decided to use it again.

Isn't the eagle so majestic as he is guarding the flags.

Getting the next project ready for piecing.

But first I needed to clean the bobbin area of my domestic machine. I think it is long overdue!!! I probably shouldn't show you, but I will anyway. YIKES!

The super dark purple iris are starting to bloom. Sometimes they look almost black and then when the sun shines on them a gorgeous deep purple. Definitely not going to have a lot of blooms this year.

  1. Wow!! That is fabulous!! Great border choice and such a pretty panel to frame. I'm always shocked at how much lint comes out of that bobbin area. I clean mine out after every 6 bobbins as that is how many I wind at once.

  3. I love that border too! And the panel, it makes such a nice wall hanging. The fabrics for your next project are pretty. I hate to say it, but the fuzz looks familiar - hiding my face in shame. Beautiful irises!

  5. That's a good border for those panels! I have some of that strawberries on blue print in my stash! It's mostly used up, but I enjoyed using it in several projects. Looking forward to seeing what you're making with it! Those iris are pretty - do they smell good?

  6. Hi Vicki! Why mess with excellence?!! I think that border is perfect for both wall hangings, but especially this one. It seems to match the colors just perfectly. Irises are one of my favorite summer flowers. I had oodles at my previous house and didn't think to transplant some 16 years ago. They always make me smile! Yikes, we have some BAD weather heading way any moment. You can't even cut the air with a sharp knife - it is Humid. Take care, Roseanne (I figured out how to post with my name!)

  9. What a perfect panel for the 250th this year, and I love that border! Those iris are so pretty, and in your favorite color, right? I used to have little mini purple iris, but someone (name withheld) tilled them up. I miss them!

  12. The iris is gorgeous! I used to have tons of them, but haven't planted any since I've lived in the new house. Time to consider it. And the projects are always great!
