I appliqued the leaves after I quilted the runner.
While at JoAnn's getting the red/black polka dot fabric I found this super cute yellow with lady bugs on it. I had to get it, I was only going to get enough for borders on one runner. But there was already a one yard piece cut so weakness overtook me and I purchased the whole yard! So glad I did as this one already sold and will make another soon.
Oh and this black with white jumped into my cart that day also;) It was perfect for this runner. Don't you love the gingham cut on the bias for the binding.
And the black scratches for the backing pulled this one all together.

So cute! These are gonna do well in your shop! I think I saw a green ladybug fabric at Joann's before, but I really like the yellow.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is such a cute runner. All the fabrics are perfect, and so is the quilting. I can see why this one sold so quickly!
ReplyDeleteI love that yellow border around - how perfect to have found ladybug fabric!!
ReplyDeleteVery smart to buy the yellow fabric! It's just the perfect border for the runner. And I love the gingham binding, too! I wish more fabrics were printed with a plaid on the diagonal so we could get that look without having to cut bias strips.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second ladybug quilt I have seen lately, and I really love them. This version has terrific fabric, and that border - so perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes! I like the gingham binding. Both of these are just as cute as anything!
ReplyDeleteOh my! So much cuteness today! Polka dots, lady bugs, and gingham. How could you go wrong? No surprise at all that runner sold quickly and won't be surprised if the second one sells right away too! Woo hoo! You have such a great design eye, Vicki!
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I love all of the fabrics you used in this adorable table runner.
ReplyDeleteHey, Vicki!!!! Those are awesome! And these are the GOOD kind of ladies! It's a bit of a shame they have been upstaged by their evil twins.........back from TX early May (hope to make it to the May SEAMS meeting).
ReplyDeleteToo, too cute, Vick! I love ladybugs!
ReplyDeleteat our local quilt show a quilt made with lady bugs on it took first place
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely cute! I especially love that yellow border fabric with the ladybugs on it. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is the cutest. This looks like a fun project.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I love that the polka dot fabric did most of the work for you!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! Oh, this is SO darn cute. The yellow fabric with the lady bugs on it just push it over the top. Plus, lady bugs are good luck so of course this would sell quickly in your shop. I am not surprised one bit - not only are people enjoying Spring but they are also looking forward to the dog days of summer. Soon, right?!! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteJust adorable. I bet that'll sell fast in your Etsy shop!
ReplyDeleteI love ladybugs, and this is just such an adorable way to show them off!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable!! I love the details like the leaves and the simple quilting. Really cute for summer. We had some sort of strange infestation of ladybugs last month and it drove me nuts. Funny how if I see a few outside they are cute but if there are twenty inside, hmmm.... not so cute!! These table runners, however, are very very cute!
