Bargello and a scrap bag runner

My friend Rhonda pieced this gorgeous Bargello and asked me to quilt it for her. We agreed on a freehand feather swirl design I learned from Judi Madsen at GreenFairyQuilts. I love this design and I love the colors in Rhonda's quilt.  We used Hobbs 80/20 batting and glide dark tan thread.  Thanks Rhonda for letting me quilt for you!

Now with all orders fill and craft shows done for the season I decided to play with these scraps. They were a scrap bag I got at a garage sale a couple years ago, all cut into 2.5" x 4.5" rectangles. I just could never figure out what I wanted to make with them, until I saw a schnibbles pattern in a book at our guild and thought that would be perfect!

So here is part of the scraps made into this runner-I love how it came out. I will whip up another just like it and have them ready to quilt for next year's shows.  I have another thought of a runner design for more of the scraps too. There were a lot in that little bag :-)

  4. Vicki, your friend may have just made a convert out of me! I've never been a fan of Bargello, but I love that simple colorway. Of course your quilting is faaaab-u-lous, dah-link.
