It feels soooo good to have these quilts done and ready to donate to the local Neonatal unit. When I started the first one I decided to just cut lots of different colors. Well you know that when you cut a strip x WOF you will get tons of little pieces needed to make one of these quilts. One quilt-oh no you get several!! These finish about 28" sq with the border. But I am happy to report I used every last bit I cut for them so no more like this. I love how they came out.
Here you can see the quilting close up.
Just look at the texture this design has. It's a Judy Madsen freehand design, she has a video on her blog of it. My pressing board is by the window and I had the blinds down, but open, and it showed so beautifully I couldn't help but snap a picture!
I chose to make them just a tad different with adding different borders and quilting them different too. The Unit had expressed desire to have quilts similar that could be used for multiple births. I think these fit the bill don't you? Plus I had this aqua/blue one that could be a little boy one. So five look alikes(sorta).
