This is my first quilt ready for donation for the H2H project going on over at Sarah's. Sarah has done this for several years, but, this will be my first year to participate.
I had pieced this a couple years ago with the intent of practicing some Christina Cameli designs from her second book. The practicing got done on other more important projects instead. But, when Sarah announced the H2H last Sunday, I knew it would be good to get this out of the closet and into the hands of someone who could use it.
It was definitely fun playing with some new designs.
I found a fleece in my stash that was the perfect size for the backing.

Ooh, fantastic quilting! I love how the white makes the prints pop. I want to use the same color contrast on a quilt I'm planning right now.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting on this is really fun! Welcome to the Hands2Help challenge. I've done it for a few years now and have really enjoyed it. This will be a sweet quilt for someone.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and such fun quilting! When you use fleece for the back, do you use batting, too? This will bring smiles to someone special.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute, simple quilt. The quilting adds a lot. The fleece makes it look so cozy. I've never added fleece to a quilt. I may need to try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, very cheerful. I'm getting started on mine today.
ReplyDeleteVery happy colors and lovely quilting. Congratulations on a finish and also on a very worthy donation.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting is beautiful! What a nice, bright gift for somebody. Welcome to the H2H club!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting looks gorgeous and the colours are very lovely too.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilting, Vicki! Those long panels are the perfect canvas to practice skinny designs like that. Such a bright, cheerful quilt! Which charity will this go to?
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired to see several H2H quilts are already finished, woo hoo! I've been piecing one of mine for a couple days now...
Love, love, love the quilting, especially the green strip! I have a domestic machine on a frame and it only does one speed, so I am always looking for designs with minimal stops, starts, and sharp turns, this one looks perfect! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThose colors remind me of a quilt I made for my niece, several years ago. Fun! One of these days, I'll participate, too.
ReplyDeleteNice job! I need to get some backing for my first H2H quilt.
ReplyDeleteWow! That quilting is gorgeous! It makes me appreciate my long arm quilter even more! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilting and great colors!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a lovely quilt... love the warm fleece backing too!
