The borders are cut from stash yardage.
My DH thinks the shamrocks should be a brighter green. So off to the store I went to get some regular St. Patty's fabric.
In the meantime, I listed this in my Etsy shop and it sold the very next day, so I made another one today!
Here is the brighter green version with less piecing. Which one do you prefer-the darker or the brighter and lots of pieces or not so many?

I hope you will stop back on February 7th for my day in the Put a Little Love in Your Quilt Bog Hop
I like them both, actually, and it's good to have choices! I'm still amazed at how quickly you can whip these up!
ReplyDeleteI'd choose the brighter one with more pieces. But I have to agree with Wendy, more choices is good, since we all have our own likes. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, too! Cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but the darker one has more depth with the extra piecing. But they are both aforable!
ReplyDeleteI like the darker one better, but it's probably just because there's more piecing. I'm fully in the the-more-the-merrier camp when it comes to fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI think the brighter one is cheerier and I would prefer it with more piecing - even though that is not what you asked. I adore each of them. You made two masterpieces.
ReplyDeleteBefore I hit the publish button, I took another look at the pix. I think there is much to be said for the simplicity of the brighter runner. I wonder if more piecing might have the shamrocks fighting with the border on it. I think it's perfect as it is. I wanted to leave the above comment so you might take another look at your work and see the beauty of each.
I don't have a preference to the amount of pieces, but I do like the brigher one. But some people's decor would go with the darker one I would think. They are both great!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki,
ReplyDeleteWow, you got these done quickly! I like them both. If I HAD to pick, I think I'd go with the darker one only because of the coloring in my dining area. I'm sure these will go quickly in your Etsy shop! ~smile~ Roseanne
They are both beautiful Vicki, I like the bright because it shines and turn the place glad but the dark version is lovely with all those squares. Great work.
ReplyDeleteFun runners! They're really cute in both configurations and colorways. My own preference would be for more piecing and the dark would win out by a tiny smidge for my home. For my workspace, it'd be the light.
ReplyDeleteCute, fun runners! Bright green seems more traditional for St. Patrick's Day, but dark green is more "homey" to me. I'd keep the darker one out longer, and the brighter one would be more festive for the holiday. But then I'd put it away until next year. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteNice design Vicki. Yay for selling one so quickly! Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI like the multi-pieced one, but like the brighter colors of the 2nd one. They both are nice! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh, you KNOW I'm going to say the brighter green; however, I do like the more piecing design you used on the other one. And I actually do like the darker one too, just not as much as the bright. Congrats on yet ANOTHER sale!
ReplyDeleteI like the darker one.
ReplyDeleteYou are a fast sewer! The darker one would go better in my house, so that is my preferred. Both a striking though! Thanks for sharing.
