I tried out Susan's Dragon Fruit freemotion design. I wanted it as an allover so I did it on a larger scale.
This is one of the donated backings from a friend. It was a stretchy terry type fabric. Since it was a little stretchy I handled it with care and had no problem. In fact it turned out great and was super snuggly when it was off the frame and bound. And look at the great texture.
This will be a H2H donation quilt. I will be donating six quilts this year to our local Crisis Nursery Center.

Oh, I really like these triangles! Seems like a lot of 60 degree shapes have been showing up in my blog feed these days. Must be something in the air? :)
ReplyDeleteDone is very good, but I like the colorful triangles. I think it makes a cute baby quilt!
ReplyDeleteCa-yute!!! That is a baby blessing right there.
ReplyDeleteI love this triangle quilt. I love the colours and that it's not a uniform design but very well balanced. Great job on the quilting.
ReplyDeleteThere you go, being all clever again with your quilting designs! It's such a happy quilt, and I'm sure it will be well loved.
ReplyDelete"Snuggly" is definitely a good thing these days! Seems like drinking hot tea is being done a lot in my little nest! Even our one warm/80F day last week didn't quite lift the dampness. Bright triangles do help, though!!!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out great! Many times getting something done is much better than being totally in love with a project!
ReplyDeleteI like that, Vicki! It's great that it gave you a chance to use up those triangles, plus play with a new quilting design! Someone is going to love that quilt, and get lots of comfort out of it.
ReplyDeleteThis triangle quilt is great...it's not the typical design! And the soft backing will provide lots of comfort!
ReplyDeleteI think your triangle quilt looks terrific - great way to use up some leftovers! I'm sure it will bring comfort to whomever receives it.
ReplyDeleteCute! This is a great way to use up those extra triangles. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Your timing is impeccable. I just got a batch of triangles at Bee this week and wondered what to do with them. Now, I know!!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what can come of left over pieces when quilting. You created such a fun quilt! I just love the triangles.
ReplyDeleteGood evening! WOW - you're not loving this quilt top?? Why on earth not?? I think it is pretty darn cool, and I'll bet the recipient will too. Just goes to show . . . it may not be your cuppa but it is someone's. Like me, for example. I have been thinking about Susan's Dragon Fruit design, drawing it on my sheet in the middle of the night until I had it perfected. I'd prefer to sleep but since that is elusive I can at least perfect my quilting patterns. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteGreat design, I love it and love the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteOh I like it!! It is a unique one - and the colors are so happy!
ReplyDeleteYou found an excellent use for leftover pieces and it is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteReally nice triangle quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love the modern vibe of the front and the coziness of the back. So much quilty goodness from leftovers!
ReplyDeleteI love that quilting motif with those bright fun triangles. I can't believe you've cranked out six quilts already! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteMessiness? Did you lose your glasses? Put on your glasses and look again. OK, never mind. I will tell you - it is modern and chic and the quilty neatness is just awesome. Now you may just dismiss my words but you should pay attention to JanineMarie.
ReplyDeleteWell, I like it a lot!
