Knitting again

Just a quick pop in for today.  In the evenings while watching TV I have gotten back to hand knitting more of these slippers. Once in a while during the night when I wake up and can't get back to sleep I will knit for a while to calm my mind. They are called Grandma's slipper from favecrafts. I am using a strand of 4ply Red Heart yarn with a strand of sport weight cone yarn from my knitting machine yarns. It's fun to try different color combinations.

So this was a first for me, holding the hummingbird feeder in my hand while he came to drink!  It was so amazing, I could hear his flutter and feel the breeze he was making. His neck was a hot pink and I could see some green color on his back and tail.  The video is only 21 seconds, enjoy!

  1. I have often thought about getting up when I can't sleep, but Hubs would probably wake up too. He doesn't sleep as soundly as he used to when he worked!

  5. Your slippers are so fun! Does the pattern have different sizes? I LOVE your hummingbird video! I got to do that once - we were visiting friends in Arkansas and he was filling the hummingbird feeder, and gave it to me to hold. The hummingbird came right up to me!

  6. Happy Thursday, Vicki. What a wonderful way to relax in the evenings. Your knitted slippers are adorable and will keep your feet quite toasty. They bring back fond memories of my Great Aunt who knitted slippers. I still have 1 pair of hers. Love the hummingbird video. You reminded me that I need to pack a feeder when I head out west in a few weeks. Enjoy your day and Merry Christmas. Hugs

  8. How cool to have a hummingbird feeding that close to you. They are beautiful birds. I could use a pair of those slippers right now! Maybe I should get some socks on my feet. :)

  9. I remember getting slippers like those from my grandma - probably still have her pattern somewhere, but I am not a knitter! How fun that the hummer came right to you. I've never been able to get ours to do that.
