Sunflower fun

I started stitching this Sunflower piece over a month ago. It didn't take long to finish the cross stitch and then it sat, I kinda have a theme with that on several projects!  Well yesterday I decided I had just enough time to make it into something. It's a freebie from our friend Melisa who generously makes and gives us new stitchin' patterns all the time, thank you Melisa!!

I knew I wanted it to be a little pillow. And I had fabric in mind as I just finished another project with it. The brown with gold metallic dots was the perfect framing fabric and then I added a somewhat checkerboard gold and ivory fabric to finish it off. I say somewhat as when I started I didn't figure the aida cloth size right for the checkerboard. Therefore the checkerboards ended up an odd size and doesn't match in  the corners perfectly, I am okay with it because it is done;)  A half hour later and it was done and on display in my entry way.

Since it matched the wall hanging I just finished it needed to be a prop!!  Squeeee, it's perfect, I am in love with it!!  The wall hanging is my pattern called Welcome the Sunflowers which can be found in my Etsy pattern shop HERE.

  1. It's so cute! The checkerboard looks perfect to me, it just completes your little display. I love that font, I'll have to go back and find Melisa's pattern. She really is so very generous with her patterns.

  10. It is a darling pillow and goes very well with the wall hanging. Are you keeping it? And believe me NO ONE will complain about the corners aren't the way you want them. They looked fine to me! Very nice finish.
