Sewing table

For the new quilt studio I spent a lot of time checking out different options for a sewing table. This one is working out perfect! It is a 24 x 48 free standing desk with electric lift so I can make it the perfect height. It's very sturdy too.

I have been sewing orange string blocks on phone book pages. Fifteen done so far and wish I had brought more but of different fabrics so I wouldn't have to repeat so many! So I switched to a different project:0 for now at least. My design wall has not progressed yet so I decided to just pin these on anyway, LOL.

Will you join me over at Alycia Quilts for lots of inspiration.

  4. That looks like a great sewing machine desk! And it even has its own Christmas tree, too. Your orange strings are great - those phone book pages make a neat shape for strings. Have fun!

  5. Hi Vicki, wish you had some lovely christmas days and for 2026 please take my good wishes for health and creativity. The string quilt will be lovely. it makes so much fun to sew that. I had less time and less motivation, could finish some small items but not much. To much workload on the office side of my life.
Love your posts .... big hug - Wendy's Eva

  7. Nice table and nice blocks! I have an arrow table, but love the idea of an electronic lift, especially for when I put the embroidery piece on my machine. It is hard to get everything you need on one of those tables.

  10. What a great table Vicki and being able to adjust the height is perfect. I also love sewing string blocks on old phone book pages, glad I kept some.

  11. I envy the sewing table. I have a cabinet, but wish now that I had a large opening so I could use my knee lift lever. As it is, the cabinet opening is too narrow! And I love the idea of the kitchen island for your cutting surface and storage, good call!

  13. Great table -- I have one from JoAnns purchased years ago. Except I have two lovely sewing desks already so for now it sits in the basement. I need to do some string piecing and try to lighten the scraps load. As if a quilt would make a dent! Have a good week.

  14. Those adjustable tables are great. My daughter's boyfriend found one sitting next to the apartment trash dumpster. It looked clean and sturdy so he took it and it works! Someone must have just been in a hurry while they were moving out and didn't need it any longer. Love your orange string blocks. Oh what will they become, I wonder.
