Some goals met some not

And does it bother me that some goals were not met?  No it doesn't right now.  I wanted to start something fun just because I could!!  So I pulled this jelly roll of Riley Blake off the shelf.  Aren't these just such fun colors and the prints, well there are several that quickly became my favorite.

Never wear a black shirt or pants when working with precuts that have been pinked!!  I quickly became polka doted with white specks:(  Oh well I was still having fun and made quick work of a bunch of strip sets.  I am using a pattern by Kitchen Table Quilting called The Iris Quilt.

Before starting the new project above I made 6 more brown/neutral log cabins.

And the last Christmas diamonds table runner for a while. I had kitted up 3 of them and they are all pieced now.

Do you tend to get upset with yourself if you don't meet your goals.  I don't think we should as long as we are doing something, after all that would still be progress!  I am not sure what I will work on this week, perhaps I will get back to working on the black/gray quilt that I posted last week, time will tell;)
Until then I am sending good vibes out to all of you that you will accomplish something fun this week!

Be sure to stop by the HomeSewnByUs blog for To Do Tuesday to see all the fun things our fellow blogger friends have been working on. Perhaps you will be inspired to try something new!

Diamonds for H2H

We are getting down to the wire for the final posting of our quilts for Hands 2 Help hosted by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  Each year Sarah hosts this wonderful event and helps us move along those quilts we made to donate.  I like to piece several quilts throughout the year and have them ready to quilt, bind and give.  I have posted a few in the last two months.  Here is another.

The lighting just wasn't going to cooperate today, but I wanted to get this posted.  I still have two more to post about.

The diamonds are from a fun tutorial by Bonjour Quilts.  A quick meander was called for in order to get this finished up.

Gotta love the stripey colorful binding!  I will be donating my quilts locally to the Crisis Nursery
Center.  This quilt is either #6 or #7, I have lost track!

And of course on Sarah's blog when she opens it up for the final linkup.

Diamonds from HRTs UFO

Clicking another UFO off the list or shelf in my case.  Last summer I wanted to make another project using HRTs (half square rectangles).  I have made a couple table runners( HERE with this method and loved the process and results.  The tutorial for this block can be found HERE.

As I mentioned I wanted to make this last summer, well I got started with these 3 blocks and then other squirrels jumped in the front line and this squirrel got shoved to last place;)

Fast forward to the end of December and I found myself with a little time. So I decided I would make a few more blocks. Once again more squirrels ran to the front of the line and pushed and shoved this little guy to the back again.  This week I said 'Okay enough', let me put this flimsy together.  Those other squirrels heard the determination in my voice and backed down, LOL.

These fabrics were given to me by Henry Glass for a few projects in one of their Desire to Inspire challenges a couple years ago.  After completing the projects for them I had leftover fabrics.  I will use them for a couple donation quilts.   When placing the border fabric I wanted the barns facing the interior of the quilt so the little sheep in the background fabric could always find their way to the barn;)
Such a fun quilt with fun fabrics. Off to the 'to be quilted' pile for when I am in that mood.
