Holiday quilting

It's been a productive week, lots of quilting happened. From the start to the end, picking fabric to binding each one.  And all from the stash. First up a 10 degree round wedge topper for the holidays. I picked the focus fabric, the holly one first and then picked the coordinating and background fabric. I have a tutorial for this topper on my tutorial page if you are interested.

Definitely time to finish some snowmen for the shop. This is my Snow Dudes pattern. I pieced two of these and only quilted the one for now.

Buffalo Plaid has been a favorite in the past and I hope they continue to be. Two of these pieced and only one quilted for now. I have two other table runners and a wall hanging I am working on too.

I received some sad news yesterday, my Wisconsin quilting friend of 20 years passed away recently. We connected online over our knitting machines and then learned we were both quilters. I have been to her house several times while we attended the Wisconsin quilt show and always looked forward to when we could get together. The last two years she invited me to a quilt retreat that she attended with friends from her area. I am already missing her as we texted often sharing our ideas and accomplishments of our quilting projects. I knew something was going on with her health this summer, but wasn't expecting the end to come so soon. My heart goes out to her family. RIP Sandi B.

It's getting to be the season

It's snowing season I guess as I heard Colorado got hit yesterday. Did you get any where you live? We did not and I don't want any yet! But that doesn't mean I can't sew up some snowmen.)  I confess this one has been done a while and I forgot to blog about it.

You might have already guessed that the center is a panel. The borders were fun to work on with  a flying geese tree.

and friendship stars.

A more recent finish was a Snow Dudes runner.

You can find the pattern for this one HERE. Sew fun to make;)

And last but not least is this snowman wall hanging.  You might recognize it as I made a different version of it HERE.

October 25th To Do Tuesday

Do you all realize this is the last Tuesday in October already!  I am late getting my To Do Tuesday posted.  It almost sailed right by me.

Let's see what was on my goal list for the past week. Oh yes I didn't make a specific list other than to say work on more table runners, especially snowmen ones. And I was going to try to work on piecing more of the 8 identical table toppers.

1. Snowman table runners done: ✅ x 4.  First up is this one made using my Snow Dudes pattern (which can be found in my Etsy pattern shop).

I took the fast way out and used one piece for a backing.

Next I moved onto making two of these round ones using my Around and Around pattern(also in my Etsy shop).

For these I found some leftover pieces from other runners and made fun backings for them. These are approximately 25" in diameter.

As for the other goal of piecing more of the 8 identical toppers, that didn't happen. However, I did get the three quilted that were already pieced.  I pinned one long piece of fabric onto my longarm and made fast work of this. These are approximately 24" square.

I also finished up another pumpkin wall hanging.  Another fun backing was quickly pieced and leftovers used up!

This one was already pieced, so the quilting and binding were done this past week.

This week's goals are fun, fun, fun!  I have a friend coming over on Monday/Tuesday so we are going to sew ourselves silly, along with chatting like crazy.  I told a neighbor I would have her over one day later in the week.  And another gal suggested we get together for a sewing day.  So what will I be sewing, well I have those 3 red/white toppers to bind, 3 pumpkin runners to bind.  From there anything is fair game!!  We'll all be surprised to see what I finish up:)
