To-Do Tuesday #13

Ok good I was productive this week!  For To-Do Tuesday's goals I wanted to accomplish these things this week.

1.  Sew the blue/yellow columns into rows for a completely pieced top.  DONE!
This top will be for H2H this year.

2. Make a sunflower table runner, I had the petals made so it needed appliquing, piecing, quilting, and binding.  DONE!

3.  Sew some more red/gray string blocks. Five more DONE!  As you can see I am playing around with a possible layout with red and/or black sashings.

Goals for this week April 14-20 are going to be:
1. Piece and quilt another patriotic table runner
2. Quilt two tops for H2H
3. Piece and quilt a pineapple table runner
4. Finish piecing a UFO

To-Do Tuesday #7

Yep I am a day late in posting my week's accomplishments.  I was on the road yesterday and didn't have time or energy left to do it last night.  But I am here now.

My goal list was very short this past week... to continue putting together five leaf runners. DONE!

At the beginning of the week they were just a pile of blocks. The blocks are sashed with 1" black strips and then four blocks sewn together, one of each color (green, gold, orange, purple).  All that is surrounded with a black with gold speckles 1" border.  The next step is to piece strips of each color together for a strip set and subcut them into 2.5".  That was also done.  Goal accomplished!

For this coming week I should have a bit more time. Here are my goals for the week ahead.

1. Add the pieced borders (so you won't have to see these again until after they are quilted)!

2. Start sewing wedges for my Turkey runners.  In this process I will be helping my Sister-in-law to make one also.  I will need to make several of these this year.  I ran out last year between local shows and Etsy.

3. Start writing up my Accuquilt tutorial on the new Morning Star BOB table runner. I finished the runner a couple of weeks ago.

To-Do Tuesday #4

Let's see how I did with my To-Do list this past week.

1. Work on some red and gray string blocks. Done
Six sewn and so much fun. Maybe this will be the setting and maybe it won't.  Time will tell.
I love sewing these onto phone book pages.

2. Work on a tutorial for Accuquilt.  Done
Not only did I work on it I finished piecing it.  But of course I can't show you the finished piece yet so this in progress photo will have to do for now.  Next will be writing up the tutorial.

3. Cutting scraps into 2.5" blocks.  Done
I did cut several green and a few neutral green 2.5" blocks with my accuquilt. I use the 2.5" from the eight inch cube set.

Oh boy what should I put on the list for this next week.  So many things I could choose. I could just do more of what I did this week, however, that seems boring right now!

Ok decision made.

1. Piece a table runner with my Windham aqua fat quarters from Love Crafts.

2. Piece five red and gray string blocks.

3. Finish a UFO donation quilt.

Thanks for taking a peek at what I have been up to.  Let's all hop over to HomeSewnByUs for To-Do Tuesday

To Do Tuesday # 3

My To-Do list for January 13th through January 20th was...

1. Work on more Valentine runners-Done
2. Sewing wedges together that I cut the previous week-Done

One more Valentine runner done for a total of four pieced so far this year.

Wedges for five sunflower table runners sewn into 15 flowers. My quilty friends that is 225 wedges!! There are still more cut and ready when I need them. It always feels good to have a start on a runner or two or three so I can make them up faster.
From wedges to blades to flowers.

So what is on my list for this week January 21st through January 27th.

1. Work on some red and gray string blocks.
2. Work on a tutorial for Accuquilt.
3. Cutting scraps into 2.5" blocks.

To-Do Tuesday #2

It's To-Do Tuesday again over at Home sewn by us, how can the week possibly have gone by already!!  I stayed plenty busy, but also managed to work on this weeks goal.

Here is what I listed I wanted to do:
1. Work on Valentine table runners-done

2. Cut out wedges for turkey, sunflower and poinsettia table runners-done

And here is what I have done.

1. Overall I am pleased to have finished piecing three of the seven Valentine table runners.

2. The cutting for the wedges was so fast and easy. The end of November I was contacted by LoveCrafts to see if I would like to receive some goodies in exchange for a review for them.  Certainly I would love to do that was my reply.  They sent me some beautiful aqua fat quarters from Windham and an Olfa Endurance 45mm blade to review.  They were quick to send out the products and I am loving the Endurance blade.  It cut through these wedges so quickly using 6 layers of batiks for the turkey table runners.

And then I tried 8 layers of these batiks for the sunflower table runners, easy peasy!

But I was curious and had time to cut more so I layered up 10 with no problem. This blade is so sharp. For accuracy sake I wouldn't recommend doing 10 layers all the time.  But I wanted to experiment and these wedges are a bit forgiving if they are not spot on, but I feel like they are!

I'll keep you posted on it's performance as time goes on.  I will also be reviewing the aqua fat quarters in the future too.  At that time I will give you more info on LoveCrafts. But in the meantime you can check out all the products they have available. They have knitting, sewing and now quilting items. They also have a January sale going on, there might even be a window popping up to offer you 15% off your first order.

To-Do for the week of Jan. 13th through Jan. 20th.

1. Work on more Valentine runners
2. Start sewing those wedges together that I cut this past week.

I hope you'll join us at Roseanne's and post your goals for this week.
