The 2 green fabrics on the far right and the orange on the left are what started the whole thing. I was at Quilt show in Rosemont, Illinois a few years ago-yes they have been aging(like a fine wine)- and I fell in love with those prints which were half yard pieces. Then I tried last year to find coordinates in the stores here-wasn't happening, the shades were just not right. So one day I was going through my stash for something else and I thought wow that orange looks nice so I pulled it out and WOW I couldn't believe it was the perfect one to add to it!! Love how that happens, makes me so happy I have a LARGE stash ;D It is the one in front on the right. Next I found some pieces that went well with them at SR Harris last fall. Then they sat just waiting for the right pattern to pop into my head or computer, haha It was meant to be as I needed 10 prints and a background and I had just the right amount!
I am making this my goal to finish for the month of August. Linking up at ALYOF, Let's Bee Social, Freshly Pieced and CreativeGoodness.
Love your bright and cheerful colors!
ReplyDeleteSO awesome!! Don't you just love it when you see a pattern and you have the perfect fabric just waiting to be cut?? I don't know why, but for some reason green and orange just do not click in my mind - but this is very cool! I definitely need to rethink that silly thought!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt pattern. Every once in a while a fast quilt top is welcome! Luckily you found the perfect fabric from your stash! The colors all go together so well!
ReplyDeleteLove this finish! The quilt stitching will definitely add even more beauty to it!!!!!! A question: what size quilts do you make for the Roch. Ron McDonald House??????
