Black,white,and yellow

Finally the sun came out for a couple moments, I grabbed my quilt, camera and jacket and hopped out into the snow just for you!!  Well for you to see another goal that I have accomplished that is.

This weekend I decided it was time to just get this one on the frame, do my easy allover hook swirl that I love doing, and get it off the frame. And that is exactly what happened in about 1 1/2 hours, then Monday I got the binding on and was waiting all week for the sunshine!  This is my 5th goal met for my first quarter of 2016 FAL

You can't see much of the quilting on top but the bottom is yummy!  I used a thicker yellow fleece and no batting for this quilt. Glide gray thread on top. By now you might have guessed Glide is my favorite thread to use.

And on to the next project(s) quilting table runners and piecing some other runners too. Have to vary my activities so I don't get bored, LOL

Will be linking to the FAL at the end of the quarter.  I am so happy I only have 2 more quilts to quilt and bind by the end of March in order to meet all 5 of my goals I set. But, of course, you know I work on more things than that during the quarter!!

There are a few more linky parties happening so think I will join them, NTT, Whoop Whoop.  You can find the links on my left side bar.

Have a great weekend doing whatever you choose to do.

  1. That is lovely - there's definitely something about quilts with a limited colour palette, they can be so striking! :) The back looks fab and super-snuggly, as well.

  3. I like the pop of color! Congrats for getting so much done this quarter! Love that pattern, I think it would look good with some black and white with red too.

  5. I really like this quilt. It's like looking at an apartment building and seeing that just a few people are home. The lights are on in the windows. :) Is it difficult using fleece as backing? Does it stretch? Great finish!

  7. The quilting is gorgeous, Vicki. You do that freehand on your long arm machine? Very impressive!

  9. That looks great. Did you have any stretching problems when using fleece and no wadding?

  12. It looks so pretty on the snow, and super idea to do just a nice fuzzy fleece backing.

  14. Ooooh, love this finish - I'm in a black and white phase right now, I think :) (one of my FAL finishes is a black, white and chartreuse quilt!) Thank you for participating in the Finish-A-Long, on behalf of the 2016 hosts!
