This is my finished runner. My trees are all from green scraps from my green bin. We started by making the trees so I didn't bother to pick out my border fabric. After all I have 2 tubs of Christmas fabric-surely I will have something to go with those green trees. Yep I sure did:-) I love the pinecone fabric with it, just perfect IMHO! The pattern goes together very easily. You do need Heather's Angles with Ease ruler to do the designs in the book(and this runner). But since I tend to be a ruler junkie, that wasn't a problem as I already had it ;-)
For the quilting I choose wishbones for the trees, loops for the background. One inch piano keys for the border finishes it up.

I love this! I might have to dig in my green scraps;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Yes, I just had exactly the same thought! I love making runners, too. That is so fun, and I love how the trees turn both ways!
ReplyDeleteIt's great Vicki. The pine cone fabric is terrific and just what was needed. I enjoy trees and will have to keep this in mind. I just finished one of Heather's table topper patterns and thought how fun it was to make and get it done fast. I might have to post a picture somewhere for you to see.
ReplyDeleteI like this , easy, simple and scraps. My kind of project.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful runner. The quilting is perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteLove the wishbone in the trees...that is so effective. I keep collecting Xmas fabrics but have yet to make something out of it.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out amazing. The wishbone quilting was perfect for the trees.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable Vicki! I agree with Jasmone on the wishbone quilting. I love runners too and might have to make one. Do you mean rulers to make the trees? I have the Marti Michell Wonder Traingles for triangles inside half rectangles wonder if that would work?
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and your quilting choices are wonderful! Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You're right, the pinecones are perfect as the border.
