June OMG is a finish!

I am delighted to have my June One Monthly Goal finished.  This quilt started out in February of 2019.  I was happily piecing along and then realized I didn't cut all of the quilt out and so it got put on hold.  Fast forward to last December when I finally had a bit of time to finish cutting and piecing it.  Back into the closet it went until i could figure out how to quilt it.

I figured that if I put it on my OMG list that I would finally get it done, it worked.  I chose to do a freehand all over swirl with feathers on my Nolting 17" FunQuilter.  It quilted up in no time at all.  I used Hobbs 80/20 batting and a medium gray Glide thread.

The piecing pattern is from Sparrow Studioz and is called Shuffle Quilt, it's a free download.  Easy but still a fun pattern to whip up.  I used a fat quarter pack that I had won a few years ago and added the navy blue yardage for the background.

Thanks to Elm Street quilts for hosting the OMG, I'll be linking up over there.  Also at Tish's UFO Bustin,  Michelle's Beauty PageantPatchwork and Quilts and Cynthia's Oh Scrap since you could easily use scraps for the bricks.

  7. Hi Vicki! Really nice finish and one that deserved some attention after being patient for so long. Do you have more than one longarm? I've never heard of the Nolting brand - but then I've only see a few models at shows. I love that overall freehand pattern you chose. Yippee for a completed OMG goal. ~smile~ Roseanne

  12. Think that’s one Sarah had as an H2H idea last year. Sparrow Studioz is in Edmonton Alberta! I took a great quilting class from Matt way back when he was just The Man Quilter. Nice finish!

  19. What a pretty finish, Vicki! The quilting looks great! When you say freehand, do you mean TOTALLY freehand without any marking or anything? Did you at least follow a pantograph? If not, how on earth do you keep your free motion design so even and consistent across the whole quilt? I'm in awe!
