Who could resist this adorable face! He is one of four snowman faces on a panel called Imagine Snowmen from Fabri-Quilt.
After I trimmed up the center with the snowman I added the green and black stripe to begin the framing. Next came one row of one inch finished black and white checkerboard. Above and below the checkerboard you will see a green with white snowflake fabric, that was part of the panel also. I bordered the whole piece with a second set of checkerboard followed closely by a red 2" finished border.
I couldn't resist using the black and white stripe for the binding. My Alaska customer came back to snatch this little guy right up! At least we know he won't melt up there, 😁 More panels will be used up this week! How about you, what are you working on this week, starting a new project or finishing one up?
Up next the truck panel. I love anything red truck lately, I learned to drive stick shift in red truck back on the farm.
The framing of this one starts with the marbled black/gray next to the truck panel followed by one row of red and white checkerboard. My accuquilt dies make it easy to do them and also the flying geese. While attaching the final border of the black/gray marble I thought it was to plain so I decided it would need a few stenciled snowflakes.
This one is heading out to Kansas today! Okay I am heading back to the sewing room now:)

I love the red truck wall hanging!
ReplyDeleteThat truck quilt is especially cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love both of those! The snowman is adorable and love how you set the truck panel.
ReplyDeleteBoth are so cute!! I should do a black and white check on a winter panel I just purchased. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOMG! These are both darling. Love the black and white stripe border too. Finish and gone -- not too shabby. What do you use to stencil your snowflakes on? Paint of some sort I assume. Great wall hangings.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! I am a huge fan of the red truck series! Well, not to ignore the snowman because he is a cutie, for sure. I think I may have the truck panel to make a hanging for my niece, Nicole. She decorates her entire house with that theme for the holidays. I am not one bit surprised that they've sold already! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThey keep getting cuter and cuter!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ramona, your panel creations are becoming cuter and cuter. The red truck one is just darling!

ReplyDeleteWhere were you Vickie a couple of years ago when I worked on a panel and had a hard time figuring out how to border it. So many wonderful ideas in this post and what lovely finishes. I'm not surprised it got snatched right up.
