I am so happy to say I finished my One Monthly Goal hosted by Elm Street Quilts. At the beginning of every month we can enter a challenge stating one of our goals we would like to get done, blog about it and join the linky party at Elm Street Quilts. Then at the end of the month if you meet your goal you link up again.
I had two quilts to quilt and bind for my one monthly goal for May. This half rectangle one was fun and easy to make using a HRT ruler from Creative Grids. And didn't I have the perfect backing for it!! A friend gave me that, it's flannel and the stitches just sink into it. It's quilted with yellow Glide. I did have to add a strip of yellow flannel to make it wide enough. And the perfect striped binding!!
This next quilt has a ton of scraps of all different colors. It might be a good guy quilt since it leans to the darker side.
Both of these quilts are getting donated for the Hands2Help 2022 project. I love making quilts and donating them to give someone a little quilty hug. I never know who the recipients are, but I just hope they love getting a quilt to let them know that someone cares. I will be donating my quilts locally to Families First Crisis Nursery Center.
Linking with OMG, Hands2Help, TGIFF and Finished or Not Friday.
They are wonderful donation quilts. Hooray for OMG! and getting it done!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the first quilt I think those bright colors are just calling me
ReplyDeleteBoth are great quilts, Vicki. Your generosity I’m sure is greatly appreciated on the receiver’s end.
ReplyDeleteThese are great quilts for donation quilts. They will appeal to a number of ages and stages. Great finishes!
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful quilts - and will definitely brighten up a someones day!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! Congrats on finishing your OMG project. I love, love, LOVE the HRT project. Those colors and the polka dots!! Perfection. I agree about the second quilt being more male-oriented. It will definitely be well loved in its final home. Happy Friday! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteLovely finishes and both are great ideas for scraps and donation quilts. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThose both are great quilts, Vicki! I love the bright colors of the first one - and that backing really is perfect! Flannel is such a good idea to back a child's quilt. It's good to have a more male one to give, too. It has kind of a fall feel. Congrats on your finishes!
ReplyDeleteTwo great quilts to brighten someone's life! And I'm thinking of "borrowing" your scrap quilt design. Looks like a good way to use up some scraps and end up with a cozy quilt.
ReplyDeleteThese quilts will surely brighten someone's life! Quilts are like getting a hug and we know that everyone needs a hug!
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are beautiful, Vicki and certainly will give a big quilty hug to the lucky recipients. You are so generous. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteLove the cheery colorful triangles and the wonderful scrappy blocks. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finishes. I especially love how the green HRTs sparkle. Thank you for linking up with me for TGIFF!
