I am taking a break from making items to put in my Etsy shop. The sales always slow down the second week of December as people are afraid they won't get it in time for gifting or they have already decorated. Plus I am in need of a break;) So what am I doing instead...well I started a new project over the last week. My Accuquilt crossed canoe die has been wanting to be used and so has this fabric!
And on to the news...I am now an affiliate for AccuQuilt!! If you click on the Affiliate link at the top of my left side bar and make a purchase I get a small commission. Accuquilt is having lots of sales at this time of year especially. Every day there is a different special for that day only. In addition they seem to have other things on sale for longer periods of time. Feel free to check them out! I recently bought their Rising Star die on a daily special, so I will have that to play with in the new year.
I hope you all had a good weekend. Saturday my hubby was taking the grandsons snow tubing and my daughter suggested I come visit her and the 15 month old granddaughter. Sounded good to me. We were actually gone a long time as they took us out to supper too. Sunday I spent most of the day in the sewing room.
I'll be back tomorrow to show you what else I worked on last week.

That's so fun! Definitely a whole different feel from gnomes and holiday colors. It's definitely nice to take a break from the holiday sewing after awhile. I really like the crossed canoes block, and pretty colors, too. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do with these next!
ReplyDeletedon't you just love this block - I found it so easy to put together
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I made table runners for friends last year for Christmas using CC blocks, and they were easier than I had anticipated. But I can sure see how the Accuquilt would make the cutting quicker than using a template.
ReplyDeleteHappy colors for these gloomy days, although I think you have more snow over there than we do! Looking forward to seeing how you fix your dilemma; I'm sure it will be clever, whatever it is! Glad that you could spend time with your grandkiddos!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being an affiliate! This looks like a fun die. I like how you have made each block. Good luck deciding on a final layout. I see lots of our favorite purple!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the affiliation with Accuquilt. You really do make beautiful blocks with their tools and your latest is no different. Those colors in the new quilt are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour crossed canoes quilt is looking great. How wonderful to affiliate with Accuquilt. Enjoy your week, Vicki
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being an affiliate. I know you love Accuquilt and will be a huge bonus for the company. Those Crossed Canoe blocks are wonderful. I wish I had that fabric and could send it to you, because I love to see your creativity flow.
ReplyDeleteGreat crossed canoes!!! I'm sure you can find something similar in your collection or nearby. Sounds like a great time with the grands!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the crossed canoe block and just put my runner out with it! I need to make more, as they are really fun. I am sure you will find something that works....good luck. Enjoy your family time and your time away from stocking the store!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! Ooh, I like those crossed canoe blocks. It's about time you got the affiliate link working! I will check out their sales . . . I can't decide what die I "need" next. Enjoy these do-whatever-you-want days. I know you'll find something inspiring and probably squirrel projects for others. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThe crossed canoes pattern is so lovely. I bought an old quilt top in this pattern in red and white, and it is now quilted and finished, and out on display for the Christmas season. Yours is going to be great! Hugs, Judy
