So it is not a true finish but I am pretty darn happy I got this UFO to flimsy finish this week! For the past two weeks I worked on this off and on.
Documentation was never made as to when I started this. But I know it was in the last four years as it was started when I was in Arizona. The pattern is Layer Cake Custard from Fat Quarter Shop, fabric is from Island Batik. Fifteen of the blocks were constructed back then. I stopped because not all the blocks were coming out the size I needed to pair up with the more solid blocks. A good lesson learned to complete one block and measure it.
Pretty quilt Vicki. Glad you made it to a flimsy!
ReplyDeleteit looks good and it is always good to get a ufo done!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great pattern for some large print fabrics. Congrats!! on emptying that bin!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty!!!. We always learn something, isn't it great? And working on a UFO is an extra bonus.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that much room under my ironing board (why I don't ever move it). I haven't seen that pattern before. It turned out nice.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very Arizona-ish design! Love the colors in the fabric line. It is frustrating when blocks don't come out quite the right size - I have that trouble quite often, still... after all these years of quilting! Are you guys wishing you had gone to Arizona this winter after all?
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, that's a really lovely pattern and flimsy. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat pattern. I like the colors, too.
ReplyDeleteI like the pattern, notwithstanding problems, and it looks like a great finish!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt top, Vicki!!! Great job quit pushing it around!?! The touch of yellow adds sparkle!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! When you first shared the sewing picture earlier this week, I thought it was a zebra print. Now I see it is leaves - lovely collection of IB fabrics. This turned out great. I'll have to look up that pattern as I have quite a few layer cakes to use up. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeletePretty quilt top and I know it will look even better once you quilt it!
ReplyDeleteI really like your Layer Cake Custard quilt. Congratulations on an empty UFO box. I hope you find the wide-back you want, I'm looking forward to seeing how you quilt this one.
ReplyDeleteYea for another UFO moved to top stage. I really like the pattern although, no, I'm not buying new patterns right now. I need to finish "stuff."
