Swirling Stars

So much fun to make these patriotic swirling stars again.  I have had this patriotic word half yard piece for a while and didn't know how I wanted to use it. This worked perfectly!

Always fun to try different fabric combinations. Some on the white/modern side and some on the cream/country side.

When the first two sold I got busy right away and made more with even more different prints. This is a free pattern from Krista Moser.

Yes I have a large bin of patriotic prints :) I love this striped for a binding. I made these in between working on another UFO, I hope to share that in a few days.

60 degree triangle runners

Fellow blogging friend Ramona recently made these 60 degree triangle table runners in a patriotic theme.  I was intrigued by her lay out.  In the past I did a different layout.  So I quickly whipped out some fall fabrics that went together nicely, cut and sewed strip sets.  Then comes the fun part of cutting the triangles and laying them out.  Yep I liked the results.  Thanks Ramona for the inspiration!

Before long they were ready to quilt.  Straight lines and wishbones to the rescue!

I love how the lines formed this design!

I found a fall vegie fabric in my stash that worked great for the backings.
