Purse and runner finishes

Today I deliver to the first craft show of the season.  This one opens this Friday and runs nine days straight.  I work a three hour shift the first day and another the last day.  After collecting my leftovers I will re inventory and drop off at another show 3 days later!

So I have been scurrying about gathering up table runners, purses and sweaters that are done and finishing up a few things that have been in the progress for a while.  Last weekend these purses got their final touches.  These are ones I designed with 3 pockets outside and 8 inside.  My local ladies sure like the dark colors-well it is fall after all.   Sorry but no I haven't written a pattern for them.  But I do have some purses for sale in my Etsy shop (with all the details about them).

The weekend wasn't all about work though, DH and I had Sunday afternoon with the grandsons.  The oldest and I are hard at work making spider webs and spiders.  That extruder made fast work of the web strings!

Monday I finished up a couple more of my Falling For You runners

Meeting up with a gal today that wanted one of these, she wasn't sure which one.   After dropping off at the craft show I will hurry home and finish a few more things to take with me Friday when I work.

Right now I have a nice pile of things to take to this show, but after this show I have to divide whats left as I have 2 shows that overlap!  I have had this schedule for several years and I just do what I can:)

More leaf runners and a winning!

After Wendy made up my Falling For You leaf table runner pattern in cotton prints I was curious to make more too!  So last week I looked in my stash and found a leaf print for the borders and pulled scraps for the leaves and got right to work.

Since I was using regular quilting cottons this time I used fusible on the back of the leaves and satin stitched them down. And as usual for me, I appliqued the leaves after quilting.

I loved how it turned out, so right back to the stash I went and grabbed another leaf print and some scraps.  This time in more subdued coloring.  Gotta have that variety for the customers!  You can find the finished runners in my Etsy shop or the pattern to make your own in my Craftsy shop.  Links on the right side bar.

Last month when Jamie  particapated in Sarah's 12 Days of Christmas blog hop, Jamie had a tutorial and giveaway for her barn quilt...and I was the lucky winner!!!!!!!!!!!    OMG it was like it was made just for me as it fits my wall where I always change out seasonal quilts that hang above my treadle machine.

And Jamie quilted it with the hook swirl which is my favorite design to quilt:0   Thank you Jamie, I will treasure it.

Here is to hoping we all have a productive week at reducing our stash!!  I am hoping to be working on more pineapple snowman blocks on Tuesday when a friend comes over to help me.

Pattern Release-Falling For You

Falling For You is my newest pattern release on Craftsy.  I loved how this design worked up and blog friend Wendy offered to test it for me should I decide to write it up.  Decision made:)  I wrote it up last week, she tested it over the weekend.  And it is now in my Craftsy shop.

Here are my 2 versions, both in Batiks.  But you could use any fabrics of course.  I really want to make one with regular cotton quilting fabric soon.

So many of us like the fall season for various reasons, cooler weather, kids are going back to school. Or we love the sight of leaves falling to the ground in gorgeous oranges, golds and browns.  These can be made in so many color schemes, in batiks or not.   This is a quick easy pattern to whip up if you need something ready for fall which is only a month away!!  It measures 16" x 43".

Use up some scraps for your leaves!  My leaves are raw edge appliqued on after all the quilting is done. However you decide to applique it you will enjoy having this on your table for the entire fall season!

And here is Wendy's version-thanks,Wendy, for testing.  It came out fabulous!!  Love that main fabric choice.
