This, That and the other thing!

You know those days when you just want to sew and can't put your finger on what?  Sunday was that for me. First off we had our Covid/flu shots, DH on Thursday and me on Friday. He got hit harder than me in the reaction stage. He spent all day Friday in Bed and still a lot of Saturday. I took a couple naps and just plan felt unenergized all weekend. But I felt like Sunday I wanted to sew.  I dug out a previously cut one from last year and started sewing it. All cut using the 12" Accuquilt cube signature block on blue prints. I might work on it a bit more later this week.

Monday I was in the mood to start Valentine hearts for a runner. These are paper pieced. I sew beside the paper so I don't have to waste paper nor tear it off! Before long I had 5 blocks done. A few years ago I bought this pattern from Piece By Number Quilts on Etsy but it now says they are no longer selling at Etsy.

By the end of Monday I had it all pieced. Tuesday I quilted it and bound it.

In the evenings I wanted something to keep my hands busy while watching TV. So I figured I could get this witch hat done before Halloween. Almost there! It's all felt. The pattern is from PastThymeQuilts.  It was tricky getting the wording transferred to black felt! I ended up mostly free handing it with a white pencil after checking each letter on the pattern and trying to print like that. I think it is meant to hang on the wall. It needed a bit of stiffness to it so I put fusible interfacing on it cut a bit smaller so it wouldn't show at the edge. The edge is all blanket stitching by hand.

That's been my week so far. How is yours going, I would love to hear!
