Changing things up a bit

Every once in a while I do something besides quilt:)  I know you are surprised by this right?

There is still some time left for machine knitting every once in a while.  The sleeves and bands are done on my Brother knitting machine.  And then sewn onto fleece back and fronts to make fleece sweaters. These range in kid sizes from 1 yr. to 6 yr.

These will be delivered to the craft show that begins tomorrow.

From there I went into the candy cane business;)  Thirty one of these will be delivered to the same craft show.

And by then I was ready to be back to quilting.  I realized I didn't have any of my Snow Dudes table runners for this show yet. So I quickly whipped these guys up.  Oh and I now have my Etsy pattern shop open!!  https://www.etsy.com/shop/PatternsbyVicki  I have a couple more patterns to get listed.

These craft shows require me to have an inventory list.  This also helps me know what to look for when I go back to retrieve my leftover products when the show is over.  This show is on for three long weekends(Thurs-Sun) and by then I have forgotten what all I have taken.  I also take photos of everything I take so I have that for reference too.  But for now I need to go finish packing these into my vehicle.  Hope you are all having a fun sewing week!  What are you working on?

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Pedal to Metal

I have been pushing the pedal to the metal a lot this week.  Those craft shows are closing in on me.  The first one opens tomorrow and I got it all delivered and set my runners up on their racks.  Tomorrow I will work a shift and hope to see some of my items sell!!  It's always fun meeting my customers and chatting with them a bit.

Anyway here are my latest finishes.  These little fleece knit sweaters have been in the works for a while-UFO's no longer!   I knit the sleeves and bands on my knitting machine and then use the sewing machine to attach them to the fleece.  These are size 2 and 4,  I made 2 of each size in case there are twins in need.  Or perhaps it was because they will get divided to go to two different shows that are on at the same time.

Next I got the binding on three more of the pumpkin runners.  The pumpkins were started back in April-so more UFO's finished.  Yes I know these look just like some I already showed you, but really these are more, not just the same picture!!  I used all the same fabrics, it makes it easier to produce multiples.

A busy week

Sometimes I even amaze myself with the amount of stuff I can get done in a week!  This was one of those weeks-very productive.

Yesterday I managed to cut and piece these three wall hangings. The snowmen were all on one pre-printed panel.  I added everything else.  I had done some similar ones a couple years ago and these were left so they got pretty much the same treatment as far as pinwheels and borders. And the pinwheels, I am happy to say, are leftover flip and sew corners from past projects.  Love it when I can use what I have and still make something nice.

Wednesday a wonderful friend volunteered to come help me get a start on snowmen for the craft shows.  I cut while she sewed, we ended up with parts for 58 snowmen in 5 different styles.  I will finish them up little by little in time for a late October delivery to a craft show.

But wait that's not all.  I also finished sewing buttons on more fleece sweaters and labeled them along with regular sweaters. A couple of them may look like repeats. however, they are just different sizes in the same colors/prints.  When I buy yardage of the fleece I get several from the same print.

It would appear I am on a navy kick wouldn't it.  But that is the color that sells the best.  I think it is because the designs show up so nicely on them. Once again these range from a 9 month to a 4 year. My boy supply was pretty low so this helped beef that up a bit.  I have now added 14 knitted items to my craft show box-ahhh that feels good!  I only have two more fleece to sew up and then I have to figure out how to fix some dropped stitches on another navy sweater, it's the edge stitches which make it a harder task.

Last night I packaged up another table runner for an Etsy sale, and today I will work on 2 more panels.

What about your week, did you have a productive one?  Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend.

Progress on coral and grey and more

A few weeks ago, while we were camping, I started this coral and grey quilt.  Last weekend I had a couple of spare hours while waiting for the hubster to get home.  So I was able to finish the last couple blocks and sew them into rows, the result is...the finished top.

I also finished up a few more of my machine knit fleece sweaters, 9mo, 2yr, and a 6yr.
