Done and Almost Done

 Pumpkin panel is done. This was pieced a couple weeks ago and the quilting and binding done on Wednesday, photos taken and listed in my Etsy shop on Thursday. 

This was all one panel and then I cut it apart and rearranged it, my favorite thing to do with panels. This is what the Benartex panel looked like to begin with.  You see how I cut the center pumpkin panel out, separated the border leaves from the smaller pumpkins rearranged everything and sewed it back together.

From there I added a black border to bring it to a size I needed for the triangle blocks. Easy peasy right? Add some fun quilting and it was done;)

My almost done is the Hello Summer cross stitch I have been working on. I thought I would finish it up while on vacay, but I just wasn't in the mood to really do much so I worked on it when we got home. I just have the bees wings to stitch today for Slow Stitching Sunday.  Maybe I will start the next cross stitch, it's a fall one.

Gray Wheelbarrow With Pumpkins

 Thankful and Blessed is the name of this pumpkin and gray wheelbarrow panel.  There was just something about this panel that told me it didn't need a lot of fancy pieced borders. So I listened to it and all I added was a skinny 1/2" gold border and then the leaf print outer border. 

I raided my stash to find just the right fabric for the border.  There might have been a whole lot of auditioning of different fabrics before I pulled this one.  Instantly I knew it was the right one.

  

With fall here I am really in a pumpkin mood aren't you?  Add some sunflowers and a gray wheelbarrow, perfection!  This was made with the intention of putting in my Etsy shop. But when I went to set up for it's photo shoot I fell in LOVE with it. I told my hubby I don't really need another fall wall hanging but man I really like how this one goes with my decor.  But after couple days I caved and put it in the shop anyway.  Well I thought I would have a little while to admire it as I walked past it in the store room.  That lasted all of three days, it is winging it's way to a new home as of yesterday.  I am thinking I need to go on a hunt for another one!!  I don't remember where I purchased this one or even when, LOL.

Happy Fall Ya All!  I need to whip up another Turkey table runner today.  What are you going to work on?

A UFO becomes a finished object

There seems to be an abundance of panels in my stash, wonder how that happened!!  OK if you have followed me for a while you know I love working with panels.  I really like it when they have multiple sizes within the panel so I can take them apart and do fun things with them.

Here is the panel I chose to work with for this project earlier this year.  See how I cut out one of the larger pumpkin sections.  I also cut two of the smaller ones out also.

After squaring these up, which didn't require much as they are small,  I added the orange skinny border to the top and bottom of the large pumpkin panel. A skinny brown border was added to each small pumpkin panel to bring it up to size for the green checkerboard that was sewn around each of  them.   

Next was to make green pinwheels to fit the bottom of the large panel. Once that was done another section of the skinny orange border went around all of that.  I still wasn't satisfied with the look or size so one round of larger checkerboard was sewn together and added.  I finished it off wit a skinny green and a larger orange border.  See not so hard:)  I did not have a grand plan made when I started this wall hanging, instead I just designed it as I went.

This was one of my five Q3 FAL goals, it needed to be quilted and bound which I accomplished.  I figured I better get in gear and get some done!!  I'll be linking up with them at the end of September.
