I just got the binding on my crumb quilt that I posted here as my December goal to finish. It had been pieced several months ago maybe even close to a year ago. This will be a donation quilt. I like making crumb blocks to use some of the smaller pieces but it seems that it doesn't eat up much of my crumb stash even in a whole quilt! By taking the time to piece the border, I used up a bit more.
I have seen many crumb quilts and I really like the ones with the sashing in between the blocks to help break it up or calm it down a bit. I just needed to get more done so I did a very quick meander all over it. You will see more of the quick quilting in the coming weeks too!
Linking up with ALYOF. And since it is all scraps linking with Oh Scrap where I was treated to a surprise this morning when I looked at Cynthia's post, she featured one of my bright colored scrap quilts! Always great inspiration at both of these linky parties!! If you have never checked them out please take a few moments to do so :-)
It is a beautiful quilt. Love the collors and the scrappy piano border. The recipient who will receive it will be thrilled. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnother great scrappy quilt. I love the bright blue sashing. Thanks for the Oh Scrap! shout out and for linking up!
ReplyDeleteDitto both of the above! I love the blue sashing and your border! Plus, I recognize that red with stars fabric in your last photo. Always fun to see that other people have the same fabric scraps!
ReplyDeleteVicki, this quilt is all kinds of awesome! I really like how the sashing sets those blocks apart. I agree, calms it and makes me look at each block :) Congrats on a beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteSometimes simple is best. I love this fun scrappy quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat quilt Vicki and a perfect way to use up scraps! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another gorgeous finish, Vicki! The sashing was a perfect choice for pulling all those happy and scrappy blocks together. Love the piano key border, too! Looking forward to seeing many beautiful finishes to come in the new year! Happy 2016!
