A finish for RSC16

This is the last time you all will have get to see this quilt. Each month since January (with an exception of a couple) I made a block with the color chosen over at So Scrappy.  This month was our finish it up month. I am happy to report I am totally done. I love how it came out.

The pattern is from Summer 2015 Quiltmaker's 100 block magazine.

I kept the quilting simple with an allover freehand swirl/lettuce leaf feather on my Nolting 17" Funquilter.

I had the perfect orange fabric in my stash for the backing and binding. So glad I have this one done.  Now off I go to finish up the second one.

Linking with So Scrappy and Oh Scrap.

I will leave you with another Christmas corner in our house on this cold in MN Saturday.   I love snowmen which I can leave up for longer than Christmas.  The word snow are those chipboard letters you can buy from Hobby Lobby.   Wishing you all a very happy Holiday season.

  3. I love your snowman corner! So cute! Congratulations on getting all of your RSC quilts completed! I am way behind on that, but that's okay. So, I have to compare notes - what has your temperature ended up being today? We woke up to -1, with a high of 5 predicted. Brrrr!

  10. I've loved those blocks all year, and the resulting quilt (and border) is totally awesome and even greater than the sum of its parts. Congratulations!! And a very Merry Christmas to you!

  11. I have a snowman collection as well. This year I've decided to wait to put out my snowmen until January, an easy way to switch out the Christmas decor. I like the colorful scrappy quilt! Wendy at piecefulthoughts@gmail.com

  12. Vicki, you may be a bit tired of those blocks, but I'll kinda miss the monthly updates :) The finished quilt is wonderful! I just love rainbow quilts and the scrappy strings on yours give it so much interest and depth. And isn't it surprising how orange can be such a versatile color? I seem to be constantly running out of orange and turquoise because they are so useful in bright quilts.

Love the snowman corner! It's a good thing you like snow :)

  13. Such a happy, colorful quilt...♥ it! I'm impressed that you stuck with it all year long. Whew!
Your foyer looks beautiful with all the stair rails trimmed & your snowmen in position. Very smart to go with something you can leave out through Jan/Feb.
