A Fall Starry Path

Accuquilt has a BOB (block on board) die for this black called Starry Path.  It's such a unique shape that you have to get the die to do it.  And BOB's make it much easier as you can cut for one block in one pass. So four passes provided me four blocks which is what I needed for this runner.

This runner consists of four different batiks.  I loved how this one photographed so easily!  I used Glide Military gold thread, love that one for fall items as it blends so nicely and leaves just a bit of shimmer.

Those two friends that brought another gal with came yesterday afternoon and the new gal bought this one.  Another one of them wanted it too, but I don't have enough fabric to make another. That outer border fabric is just so pretty, not sure where I got that one from.  I do have other batiks in a fallish color scheme so I will try to do one of those soon.

  1. yes you would need to draw out the block and cut templates to make this block just like the days before Accuquilt LOL - it sure makes it harder doesn't it. although some people still like to draw out blocks and cut templates.

    1. That's exactly what I was thinking, Karen! It's amazing what earlier quilters were able to make without our modern die cutters or even rotary cutters!

  3. That’s a fun complicated looking star design. Luckily you have the tool to make cutting the shapes quick and painless. The table runner looks terrific.

  4. Very pretty! This one makes me think again about buying myself an Accuquilt. I keep looking at them, and then talking myself out of it. But they have so many great dies.

  5. That is a unique star, and makes a pretty runner in those fall colors! It's no wonder it sold just like that. You definitely need to make more!

  6. What a fun block made into a beautiful table runner. I’m not surprised that more than one person wanted it.

  8. Hi Vicki! I could easily see this in r/w/b or r/w/green for the holidays, or r/w/black because those look nice together. Oh, you know the possibilities are endless but it really looks fab in Fall colors. I can see why it sold so quickly. That star is quite unique. It makes me want to get an Accuquilt, too. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
