Yellow Posie

Still wishing for spring here!  The temps will be nicer this week so that is good and along with it comes some rain. While waiting for the real ones I created a yellow posie in a flower pot. Several years ago I made an orange one of these and meant to make more and never got it done until Saturday.  Here it is in the quilting stage on the longarm with a couple of the rulers I used, I also used some circle ones to quilt the flower.

I tend to forget to get photos of the thread I use. These are the Glide colors I used in this runner. You can see how I quilted the flower in this photo. The borders are cut 2.75 and are just the perfect size to stitch lines 1.5" apart.

The flower pot quilting was kept simple with straight lines, while the background received easy stippling.

You might be seeing another of these as this one is sold already. A good repeat customer snatched it up as the colors matched her decor perfectly! Can I just say I love my job!!!
The flower pot/posie is from a free block pattern on Podunk Pretties blog. The template for the pot itself wasn't there this time. But I made up my own dimension by looking at her templates on her cutting mat as I could guess pretty close to the size needed by seeing that.

  5. So lovely!! I see the MN Twins had to postpone opening day until Friday. I'm happy the storm mostly missed us - not by much however. We got rain all day.

  9. I saw your thumbnail on Needle and Thread Thursday and realized immediately that it had to be a Vicki post. Love the flowers in a pot. It looks like it's ready to welcome summer. (we've been having ridiculously high temps the last few days --80+.)
