Hanging a quilt plus a pressing table

Things are happening in the new studio. We made a very quick and inexpensive quilt hanger from a 1x2 board. I painted it white then we screwed it to the studs in the wall. Unfortunately the studs were not centered in the wall and I wanted the hanger to be centered. Thus you can see nail heads that are not evenly spaced. Oh well it still does the job of holding a quilt and that was my main focus. We also screwed spring clips to the board, I don't like that they are red but that is what was available.

Remember me loving my lift desk for my sewing machine? Well I bought another and am using it as a pressing table. These tables were from Amazon. Being an electric lift table allows me to use it standing up pressing or when I am say paper piecing I can pull the table next to the sewing machine and lower it to a sitting height and not have to get up to press. On a normal basis I do like to keep the pressing area away from the sewing machine so I have to get up and move around.  My first finished(piecing) table runner in the new space.

Another pair of slippers finished, so I am up to three pair.

  3. That's a beautiful quilt displayed on your new quilt holder! And it does the job really well. I agree with you -- I like to get up to iron to keep moving and not stiffen up! (ugh - did I really write that?) Now, it's off to get ready for the day -- it's stitching group day and I always enjoy that.

  4. Your hanging system is a great idea! I like the red clips - red goes with quilts. 🄰 That table looks awesome to use for pressing and in other ways. Can you tell me the size and name of it? I could use a multi-purpose table like that, too!

  11. Love your adjustable pressing table! I can see it coming in handy when machine quilting, as it can hold the excess weight. Happy New Year! With a new studio, it's going to be a great one for sure. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

  12. Hi Vicki! This is a fantastic idea. Only you will be bothered by the nail heads or the red clips - we don't even see them. We're looking at the prettiness!! Those adjustable tables sound like just the ticket. I wish I had thought of that for the new little table I just picked up. Darn it!! Adjustable height is just what I needed. Happy New Year, my friend. ~smile~ and {{hugs}} Roseanne
