Both of my recent patriotic wall hangings sold almost instantly. You can see the first one here and the second one here if you missed them. One lady bought both of them, one for her veteran brother and one for her son. I had one more I wanted to list and thought I would just ask her if she needed any more. In the mean time I listed it and before she could answer me it sold to someone else!
The first lady was disappointed and I told her I had more panels like this and I would make her one. Done and sold! Same panel and design with different fabric and quilting.
We spent last weekend up visiting our son and DIL three hours north of us. So much fun catching up, sitting out by the fire pit, picnics, and playing cards. The hubster and I also enjoy a bike ride while they were busy working on Monday. We headed home Tuesday. We also enjoyed seeing Lupine along in ditches near them.
I took all the slippers, 20 pair, I knit over the winter to our DIL who gives them to her church group for distribution to those in need. The free pattern is called
Grandmas Slippers.
Plus I have been crocheting hats in various sizes in the evenings while watching TV. I completed 21 of them. Her group will also distribute them. I am using up yarn, which makes me happy, but also helping to keep some kids warmer which makes my heart warm.
You certainly have been busy, Vicki. The patriotic wall hangings are fabulous and I'm not surprised they sold quickly. I knew you knit the slippers but didn't know about the crocheted hats. They aren't just plain hats; I love the designs.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous wall hangings! I bet your lady was just as happy with the new one you made. They are both so striking with that panel, and I love your design around them. I bet people are just clamoring for your makes! Congrats on your crocheted makes - that is impressive. Glad you had a fun visit with your son and DIL. When you say 3 hours north makes me think they almost live in Canada!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear about how the work of your hands is spreading joy. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your patriotic wall-hangings have been so popular, Vicki! Do you have one you're keeping - they fit so perfectly in that spot on your wall. Your weekend sounds like fun - that's great that you have a place to donate the slippers to!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to spend quality time with your adult kids and spouses. We need to make better effort to do that with ours, but they are so busy. I'm sure your DIL's church group loves getting a new supply of slippers and hats for distribution "up north". Love those wall hangings - such simple designs allow the panel sections to be the star.
ReplyDeleteThe patriotic wall hanging is spectacular, Vicki. I can understand why it sold so quickly. Glad to hear that you have another panel for the dear lady who bought the other two. It sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your son and DIL. I so admire the knitted slippers and crocheted hats. I have a pair of my Great Aunt's knitted slippers. Have a wonderful day. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki! Look at all those pretty slippers and hats!! Doesn't it make your heart happy knowing there will be some toasty tootsies and warm ears this winter?! LOVE that you were able to help your customer with another wall hanging. That is super duper good customer service. Happy 4th, my friend. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

ReplyDeleteWow, your business is booming this year! I expect that the patriotic pieces will continue to be popular even after July. I can't believe that you have time for that much crocheting.
ReplyDeleteYour hands sure have been busy. It's so nice when something we love to do helps others at the same time. Beautiful wall hangings... as usual! :)
ReplyDeleteWow. .. those patriotic panels were sure popular! That was a lot of slippers and hats to crochet. Your comment about making kids warm makes your heart warm touched my heart!
ReplyDeleteWow - great wall hangings. How do you do your hanging sleeves - I have to do them for the fair quilts - and I am procrastinating!! Love your knitting too!
ReplyDeleteThings just fly out of your shop - so fun! Those slippers and hats are going to bring comfort to so many!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome, selling them quicker than you can make them. LOL! Wonderful charity crafting you are doing.
ReplyDeleteYour pattern for making the wall hangings is perfect for the panels. I can see why they sold right away. Your lupine pictures are beautiful….they are such graceful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love that wall hanging so much! No wonder you sold so many in the blink of an eye. Perfect for the holiday. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
