Doesn't the border on this quilt remind you of flower power!! It was so fun to make from a Villa Rosa pattern called Cinnamon Stix. A very easy and fast quilt to make. I modified it a bit to fit the amount of fabric I had. This is more child size. I had pieced it late this summer and quilted this week.

Working with yellows and grays
It all began so innocently in December. These yellows and grays were stored together in a scrapbook case from when I used them for two other quilts in past years. I had been wanting to make another quilt with them for a long time and then I saw the White Cloud Villa Rosa pattern and an idea was born.

Fast and More Fun blog hop with Villa Rosa Designs
When I was asked if I would like to participate this year I couldn't answer fast enough, YES, of course!! First blog hops are so fun, but add in the Villa Rosa Designs that really ramps it up! Have you ever tried their patterns? They are printed on Rose cards the size of a post card. And at only $2 each you can try a bunch of them. You can also get them as a .pdf too. These are the five patterns we could choose from for this hop. You can purchase them HERE if you like or enter into the drawing for a chance to win, info below.
The Clover table runner is the one I chose to whip up. And when I say whip up I mean it is really a quick make that has a stunning finish. I didn't have access to my long arm right now so I wasn't able to quilt it up, that will happen next month. This measures 17"x 56".
As I mentioned this is very quick since there is very little cutting. While sewing it I used my little clippies to help line up the seams.

Happy To Do Tuesday
Yes I am happy on this Tuesday because I met my weekly goal of quilting and binding two quilts. Both of these quilts are lap size.
Purple is one of my favorite colors, but you might not know it as I don't work with purple much. So this was a treat to make an all purple quilt. These were leftover fabrics from when I was an Island Batik Ambassador the line is Black Pearl. In January, while in Arizona, I started piecing it and made all the pieced blocks chain stitching strip sets. Then sub cutting them and re-arranging them and chain stitching them back together. Oh what beauties, it was such a pleasure to work with purple! And then it set until this spring when I cut the lavender blocks and finally finished it into a flimsy. The quilting and binding happened this week.

My quilt is 'getting away' with Island Batik!
This collection is called Brookview. Doesn't it remind you of water in a stream and wildflowers growing all around? You should be able to find this collection in your stores now, if not ask for it!
I used most of the 20 different fabrics, I wanted lots of color is this quilt so I stayed away from the 2-3 light colors. It was so much fun arranging all the colors.
Thank you to Island Batik for providing the fabric for this project. Also provided for us was Hobbs batting and Aurifil thread. I quilted a freehand allover design of paisley swirl that Jasmine taught me.
