What does New Beginnings mean to you

Welcome to my stop on the New Beginnings Island Batik blog hop!  When we were asked to used the theme New Beginnings for our Ambassador project.  I immediately thought of spring and the new flowers coming up. A friend suggested butterflies, and since the Blog Hop Logo had butterflies I decided to fly with butterflies and flowers!   Once that was decided I wanted to use Lea Anne's flower and butterfly blocks from her tutorial(which you can find here at Podunk Pretties)  I emailed Lea Anne and asked if she would be OK with my resizing her flower block, she graciously gave me permission. Thanks Lea Anne for some great blocks!

If you were here at my blog last Thursday, and looking for my post- I apologize, the hop got pushed back a few days.

Here are the eight fabrics I choose for my 32" wall hanging.  They are from the Dotalicious group and should be coming to your quilt shops very soon.  If you don't see them ask for them!  They are so pretty and springy, and since it is winter time in the US we all want something fun to work with to pass the winter days.

And a little of my quilting

It's been absolutely wonderful participating in the monthly challenges given to us my Island Batiks. And even more wonderful using there luscious fabrics!

  9. Oh, this is so pretty, and I don't even like purple! It makes me get ideas about the Rainbow Scrap Challenge - their colour is purple this month. Maybe something like this as a little table runner would fit the bill as I watch the snow falling, again. :)
