My view this morning

This is my view out the window this morning.  A poor little Chickadee had to brave the ice to find some sunflower seeds, but luckily DH had filled it yesterday before the rain started in. It rained most all afternoon through the night best I can tell. At least it was raining when I went to bed and when I got up. It is icy out there today and loads of cancellations today.   I will be staying home sewing and quilting.

Saturday was our monthly Mod Squad where a few of us friends get together to sew. I started another Scooter quilt and finished putting the rows together and put on the border yesterday.  This is a free tutorial from Fort Worth Fabrics.  On this quilt I added another row to get a rectangular quilt.
As for today I could cut another quilt, or go piece a backing and get a quilt on the frame. Hmmm, which to do!!! What are you working on today in your little corner of this vast world?

  1. Which ever you decide to work on, I hope you stay warm and safe. I think I hate ice storms more than snow storms. I like the Scooter quilt with the extra row. It gives it just a bit more length.

  2. I love this citrus colored quilt! I am procrastinating quilting because I am going to attempt free motion open feathers on one of my chunky race quilts. Guess I should get after it!

  4. Love those bright colors on a dreary day. We got the rain and ice Sunday through yesterday (and my hubby also filled the feeders ahead of that). Today all is wet and the ice is melting. I ran necessary errands only this morning, and now I'm settling in for some sewing on Chic Country and maybe a little pattern writing if I can get in the right frame of mind.

  5. The icier and nastier it gets outside, the more we try to hold onto the warmth inside. It is a beautiful quilt top and I am sure it will become a lovely quilt.

  6. What a "COOL" photo...literally, of that ice covered bird feeder with its visitor!!
Pretty citrus colors in that quilt...reminds me of sherbet. Of course, I always think of food first. LOL
I'd do the backing so you can complete something before starting another project. You accomplish SEW much...I want your energy. I feel like such a slug after seeing all you do!

  7. I like that pattern and it looks good in those yummy colors. Thanks for sharing the info on the tutorial. Stay home, stay warm, and have a fun sewing day! We've had a ton of rain but no ice. Hopefully you'll see better weather soon!

  8. Boy, the ice storm was something, wasn't it? Friends of ours from your neck of the woods had their van parked by their garage on a slight incline. The van actually slid down the incline due to the ice! Like you, I just stayed home and did some quilting. I really like the pattern and colors of that quilt!

  9. Love the photo of the chickadee! Such chipper little birds. I'm so glad you feed them. They need lots of calories to stay warm. I miss having a bird feeder, but we do get to see lots of shorebirds from the boat.

Today I'm going to finish up my Hillside Houses quilt. It's all trimmed and ready for binding, hooray!

  10. That looks so cold! Any quilting sounds like a good idea.
