To Do Tuesday #21

I think it's been another good week in my quilting studio.  Let's go to the list and see what we can check off.
  1. Make a patriotic table runner-DONE
  2. Knit a sweater- DIDN'T HAPPEN
  3. Get started with a sunflower table runner and matching placemats-DONE
  4. Anything else I want!!  Maybe that includes quilting a top I pieced last winter. DONE
I had been wanting to try a delectable mountains table runner using patriotic fabrics.  I had just picked these up at Jo Ann's since recently. They were still sitting out and available so why not;)

I used the directions provided for Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Mountain Majesties.  The quilting is the allover hook swirl which I love to do on this style of runner.  I used a medium gray Glide thread along with Hobbs 80/20 batting.

The sunflower table runner and matching placemats for an Etsy customer are all done.  I hadn't made any sunflower placemats before but she saw my citrus placemats and liked the shape so she asked if I could possible do it in sunflowers.  I love how they came out.

And while I was at it I made another runner to replace the one that sold early in the week.

The anything else I wanted was the last goal.  Here are two leaf runners quilted and bound this week.  They were pieced last February or March.

One more finish was this runner made using a GE Designs pattern.  I love this style of runner and this particular design is fun to whip up.  I might just be making more this week, I mean I have fabric so why not;)

Oh look there is the hook swirl quilting design again!  Told you I love quilting it;)  The beauty of having a large stash of fabric is when I find all the fabrics I need to make a runner/quilt without going to the store. I just shop my own personal store!

We are having a few hot, windy, humid days and I feel the energy drain out of me by early afternoon so it'll be a wonder of what I accomplish this week.  Although I did see a lower temp day in the mix.
  1. Piece and quilt a pineapple table runner
  2. Piece another GE designs runner(like the one above)
  3. Decide on the quilting design on my OMG quilt
  4. Frankenstein some battings
  5. LOL, put another sunflower on the list, I just sold the single one pictured above as I was finishing this post!  I have the Etsy App on my phone and it goes cha ching when I have a sale...music to my ears:0
I am glad that Roseanne and Sue are hosting the To Do Tuesday linky party to help us focus on what we need/want to get done.  I only started joining the party this year but so far it is helping me stay pretty much on task.

  4. Hi Vicki! You have been rocking the to-do lists lately. Number 21 - that's almost half a year. I'm glad you've come over to the list side. HAHA! Congrats on selling the two sunflower runners! That is exciting. I had made a Delectable Mountain runner using some fabrics I picked up in Alaska with a dogsled picture in the center. It sold to a Vet in Maryland who travels to the Iditarod each year to care for the dogs in the race! It's way past time to make another one. Thanks so much for linking up this week and good luck with your list. ~smile~ Roseanne

  9. These are all so lovely! Great idea to try that different shape for your sunflower as well. It looks cheery! I'm going to check out that runner pattern by Gudrun. I just got her Squared ruler and I'm having some fun with it as well as learning how to use the original one more. Have a great week!

  10. I love that you get a cha ching when you sell, and it happened as you posted. It, like all the others, is a great pattern, so many varieties those sunflowers can be...coneflowers, daisies, etc! Good luck with your week.

  11. Great finishes! I just joined the Tues to-do's this year as well and I love that it's helping me keep more accountable to my list. Not sure I would've gotten much done these last few months otherwise!

  12. I think it's even more fun to find the right fabric in my stash than in a store, because it's FREE! OK, so it wasn't free at some point, but anything just sitting around the studio costs zero dollars now, right? Lots of cute runners in this post, and all so different. The autumn leaves are my fave, though :)
